UNDIP TEAM AWARDS GET 2 IN THE EVENT IDEERS 2016
Diponegoro University student team for the first time participated in the annual competition IDEERS (Introducing and Demonstrating Earthquake Engineering Research in Schools) in Taiwan. UNDIP competition level college / undergraduate together with 49 teams from several countries namely: UK, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, and Taiwan as the host. In a competition that took place on 10 to 11 September 2016, UNDIP Team was represented by Muhammad Abror Aulia (S1 Civil), Robert Susanto (S1 Civil), Zaenal Khafidho (D3 Civil), Almira Sulistiyono (D3 Civil) and Shady Dhamar (S1 Architecture).
In this competition, each team makes the structure from the piece of wood that is provided with reference to the regulatory requirements. The structure is made then vibrated with improved acceleration at every stage, from 250 gal to 800 gal. UNDIP team finally succeeded in obtaining two awards, namely Efficiency Ratio Certificate of Excellent and cash as a gift, and the Quake-Resistant Certificate. Quake-Resistant Certificate award is given to the team that successfully create a structure that can withstand the vibration acceleration up to 400 gal. In this competition, structure was made the UNDIP team able to survive until a given maximum acceleration is 800 gal without any significant damage.
