Students of Undip Create Technology of Clean Water for Coastal Areas
Students of Undip create technology of management of clean water to overcome well water contaminated with sea water. System of management for well water at coastal areas to support water needs, such as for bathing and washing, that are initiated by PKM Team, consists of Titik Tiyas Nofanda (Physics 2014), Yoyon Wahyono (Physics 2013), Hafidz Nugroho (Physics 2014) and Istiqomah (Math 2014), guided by Dr. Heri Sutanto, M.Si.
The leader of team, Titik Tiyas Nofanda said that most of well water at coastal areas contains salt from sea water absorbed by the ground while flood in the sea. The escalation of water level because of the melt of ice in the north pole and south pole because of heating cause flood. As a result, the coastal community have a clean water crisis.
Hence, the technology that are developed for managing well water at coastal areas using electrolysis and filtration method, and ozonization, so that Salt content and impurity content and bactery reduced.
Hopefully, the technology is usefull and will be applied to overcome a clean water crisis in coastal areas.
