24 Foreign Students Join in Tropical Course

There are 24 participants from 5 countries, such as : Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan and Indonesia join in Tropical Course on Ecotoursm and Sustainable Development in Coastal Region, which is held by International Office of Diponegoro University at Quality Hall, Widya Puraya Building, August 23.

As a Chief of Commitee, Ahmad Ni’matullah Al-Baarri said that it is the third big event for International Office. “the participants who join in this program from partner universities, such as : Asia University Taiwan, Kagawa University Japan, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi Thailand, University Sain Islam Malaysia, International Islamic University Malaysia and University Malaysia Sabah. The topic itself is an excellent topic for Undip, is Coastal Development, so that it is sustainable program to support World Class University”, he said.

Meanwhile, Vice Rector of Research and Inovation, Prof. Ambariyanto said that the program which is held is not only based on ecotoursm, but sustainable development in coastal region. “So that, the participants will be taken to Karimunjawa, then they will not only focus on ecotoursm, but sustainable development in coastal region also’, he said.

Further, Prof. Ambariyanto explained that ecotoursm expedition in coastal region has many activities, such as : counting how many people will be allowed to dive in some place, what kind of tourism that is proper for the area, special methods for development. Hence, tropical course offer 31 classes both in-class program and out-class program. This program support World Class University much.

“hopefully, the foreign participants will know Indonesia deeply from ecotoursm, coastal resources, so that Indonesia, especially Undip will be known internationally”, he said.
