Pimnas Undip Team Wins 6th Place
Undip claimed 6th place in the 30th Pimnas Competition in Makasar. The winning means a three-position increase compared to Undip’s achievement last year. Pekan Ilmiah Mahasiswa Nasional (Pimnas), or National Student Scientific Week, is a final national event for competing student’s creativity.
Leading the delegation, Dr. Eng. Agus Setyawan said that Pimnas is an event aimed to build the image of academic achievement, scientific productivity, and innovation to enhance science and technology. University students’ participation is also expected to support national development and people’s welfare.
There were 190 proposals funded by Belmawa Kemenristek Dikti. After monitoring and evaluation (monev), 19 PKM teams were selected for Pimnas Competition, which include: 7 PKM for natural sciences, 2 PKM for social sciences and humanities, 2 PKM for “Karsacipta”, 4 PKM for community services, and 4 PKM for entrepreneurship.
There were 420 teams participating Pimnas Competition from 89 state and private universities in Indonesia. “Hopefully, our achievement will support Undip’s performance as a Legal Entity State University (PTN-BH), as one of the indicators is the student’s achievement both nationally and internationally,” Agus Setyawan said.
Meanwhile, Diponegoro University Rector Prof. Yos Johan Utama said that we should not be just satisfied with the achievement. The achievement should be taken instead as a guidance to achieve the best. “Undip says thank you to Pimnas team because they have given the best for Undip. They are striving while the others are sleeping. They are true patriots,” he said.
