Commitment to Eradicate Drugs, Undip Collaborates with BNN

SEMARANG – Diponegoro University and the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Indonesia held a signing of memorandum of understanding as a form of collaborative efforts to prevent and deal with drug crimes, Tuesday (9/24), at the Undip Faculty of Psychology, Tembalang.

The Rector of Diponegoro University, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, SH, M.Hum, welcomed the collaboration conducted between Undip and BNN so that later students could understand the threat of narcotic drugs. He is also agreed to be one of the channels to spread the anti-narcotics movement through the voice from campus.

“Regarding the narcotics issue, we welcome them well because we also don’t want our students to be exposed to it. If there is something that needs to be voiced from the campus about narcotics, we are ready to become one of the voices for the anti-narcotics movement because this is also a part of our duty. ” Said Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, SH, M.Hum.

Furthermore, the Head of the National Narcotics Agency, Commissioner General of Police Drs. Heru Winarko, S.H. stated that this cooperation will be applied to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education which includes Education and Teaching, Research and Development as well as Community Service.

“There are a number of things that we will collaborate with, in the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, the first one we submitted was a module for anti-narcotics material. Later we expect that the campus can evaluate and include them in the curriculum of each faculty. The second is for community service from our students which we can be optimized. Likewise, we also hope that there will be students that write a thesis or dissertation surrounding the issue of narcotic drugs. ” Explained the Police Commissioner General Drs. Heru Winarko, S.H.

After the memorandum of understanding was signed, the event continued with a public lecture for students by the Head of the National Narcotics Agency entitled “Saving Generations, Caring the Nation from the Threat of Drug Crimes and to Spread the Anti-drugs Movement.” (Lisa / Rossi / Pipit / RK / HUMAS)
