UNDIP Striving for Students to Graduate on Time

SEMARANGDiponegoro University (Undip) is striving to make the study process run flawlessly in all conditions so that students can graduate on time. Undip Vice Rector 1 for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Budi Setiyono, S. Sos., M.Pol., Admin, Ph.D, on the 159 th graduation phase VII, Wednesday (07/29/2020) revealed the average study period at Undip was quite well.

Undip’s 159th graduation was held from the 27 to July 30, 2020 divided into eleven phases. All graduation activities were carried out online because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Regarding the average undergraduate study period, Vice Rector 1 reports the following details, the undergraduate programs were 4.2 years, applied undergraduate programs 2.8 years, professional education 0.8 years and specialist programs 4.5 years. While the average study period of the master program was 2.6 years, the doctorate was 5.6 years and 2.9 years for the diploma.

If counted until the 159th graduation which graduated 2,561 people today, Undip graduates have reached 222,836 people. The 159th graduation ceremony included 33 doctorates, 296 masters, 34 specialists, 119 professionals, 1,297 undergraduates, 5 applied undergraduates and 777 diplomas. “Of the 2,561 graduates, 1,489 people or 58.14% of them achieved the cum laude,” said Prof. Budi Setiyono.

Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama SH M.Hum during the delivery of his remarks advised that the graduates must not waver in this uncertain period because of the pandemic. Undip Alumni are recognized as the third fastest compared to the alumni of thousands of universities in Indonesia. “Be proud to be an Undip alumni,” said Prof. Yos.

For students who still have to complete their studies, also for prospective students who want to enter Undip, the Rector asks not to worry because Undip always cares about the continuity of student studies. Undip made many efforts for students to be able to continue studying in amid financial difficulties due to the impact of the pandemic.

The issuance of Undip Rector Regulation No. 18 of 2020 regarding UKT Adjustments for Old Students of Undergraduate and Diploma Programs, is said to have helped students a lot. “Undip has made many efforts and policies such as the reduction of UKT or Tuition Fee to 2,750 students as well as UKT discount of up to 50% for students in its 9th semester Undergraduate programs and 7th semester Diploma programs.

Prof. Yos also said that not only the reduction or deduction of the UKT, but there is also a liberation of UKT. All of that is part of the act of Undip cares for students and encourages students to be able to finish their studies on time without financial issue during this epidemic.
