Initial Lecture for New Students on 8 September 2020 Must Use SSO

SEMARANG – Lecture at the beginning of the odd semester of the Academic Year 2020/2021 Diponegoro University (Undip) Semarang will start on September 8, 2020, and requires all students to use active SSO (Single Sign On) as most lecture activities will be carried out on-line or online using Microsoft Teams.

Based on the announcement from the Undip Rector number: 44 / UN7.P / PENG / 2020, before lectures begin, new students (Maba) must partake in campus orientation activities which will be held on 3 and 4 September 2020 starting at 08.00 – 16.00 WIB. This activity will be held online by each faculty and school, explanations of the academic regulations, mechanism of the teaching and learning process, and introductions to the facilities available on campus will be given.

In the announcement signed by the Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama S.H., M.Hum, emphasized that new students have to ensure that their Single Sign On (SSO) account is active. Students who do not have or face an issue with SSO accounts can contact the Undip IT Helpdesk via email helpdesk@live.undip.ac.id or tickets to the helpdesk.undip.ac.id application or online chat HaloUNDIP.

One more activity before lectures is carried out besides orientation is filling in the Study Plan Entry (IRS) which is scheduled to become available on 5 and 6 September 2020 at 08.00 – 16.00 WIB and conducted online from each faculty.

As for the agenda before the day of the implementation of lecture activities, a virtual New Student Admission Ceremony will be held on September 7, 2020 starting at 09.00 WIB. Although online, “To take part in this ceremony, new students are required to wear white tops, black unders,” the announcement reads.

Meanwhile, for lecturing activities that are carried out online, students are asked to adjust to the existing class schedule, and still wear casual but appropriate clothes.

For the character education program for new students which is scheduled on January 18-20, 2021 at 08.00 – 16.00 WIB, there is a possibility that the activities will not only be conducted virtually but also via offline meetings. “For the implementation of character education, of course, it will be adjusted with the conditions, considering that we have not yet know when the Covid-19 pandemic will end, we hope this outbreak will soon pass,” he said.

Character education will be continued with the Diponegoro Muda Orientation (ODM) which will be held on January 23, 2021. The exact form of its implementation will still be further announced, given the development of the situation.

Meanwhile, for the medical test, several points will be carried out, i.e. a drug-free test for all new students, then a colorblind test for study programs that require eye health examination results; and special psychometric tests for students who takes a program that require psychometric examination results.

New students are advised to download the academic activity guidelines on the baa.undip.ac.id website. It contains the Rector’s Regulation Number 13 of 2018 concerning Academic Regulations in the Education Sector of the Diponegoro University Vocational Program, then Rector’s Regulation Number 4 of 2020 concerning Academic Regulations in the Education Sector of the Diponegoro University Undergraduate Program and Rector’s Regulation Number 5 of 2020 concerning Academic Regulations in the Education Sector of the Diponegoro University Postgraduate Program; as well as the Academic Calendar schedule for the Academic Year 2020/2021.
