Diponegoro University, Semarang (31/3/2021) – The Rector of Diponegoro University inaugurated Management of Student Executive Board (Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa / BEM), Student Senate and Heads of Undip Student Activity Units (Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa / UKM) for the period of 2021. Student organizations at Diponegoro University consist of 13 Student Executive Boards, 13 Student Senates and 48 Student Activity Units. The inauguration is held online via ZOOM Meeting, on Wednesday morning.

After reading the Decree, Undip Rector appointed administrators of Student Executive Board, Student Senate and Student Activity Units. Then they made pledge together that is guided by Head of Undip Student Executive Board for the period of 2021, Muhammad Chory Firdaus. The event continued with the handover of Undip Management of Student Executive Board of 2020 to Undip Management of Student Executive Board of 2021, which was symbolically marked by displaying Accountability Report of Undip Management of Student Executive Board of 2020 on the home screen.

Head of Undip Student Executive Board of 2020, Razin Hilmy Baihaqi delivered the welcome manuscript of Cabinet of Initiator of the Masterpiece. Hilmy, his nickname, would like to thank all the management of long-term student organizations who have worked together. To the new board, he advised to hold collaboration because the strength of organization in producing good movement and service is determined by the strength of the organization itself. In this case, strength includes the ability to ground ideas, assertiveness in leadership, and fluency and clarity in speaking. He also advised the management for the 2021 period to be able to produce quality service products in the form of work programs and other forms.

Meanwhile, Head of Undip Student Executive Board of 2021, Muhammad Chory Firdaus, introduced the name of Cabinet of Baskara Karya when delivering a speech and introductory remarks. Baskara means sun, it is hoped that the student organizations at Diponegoro University can provide benefits for all of us.

Diponegoro University Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum. advised all Management of Undip Student Activity Units for the period of 2021 to maintain integrity, accountability and uphold the good name of Diponegoro University.

“Like the lyrics in Mars University of Diponegoro, ‘uphold it high’. Therefore I ask that all administrators of Student Executive Board, Student Senate and Student Activity Units 2021 to be able to raise the good name of Undip. Undip does not only belong to you, but belongs to 250 thousand alumni and belongs to the state since Undip is a state institution. Therefore, I hope that you can really be a part of the strength of Diponegoro University through the organizations’ achievements,” said Undip Rector.

The Rector invited all organizations to maintain the quality of Undip’s accountability which had always received an Unqualified Assessment, as well as invited all administrators to work together.

“I hope that the organization at Undip can also maintain the accountability of their respective organizations. The rules are clear and there are punishments that provide lessons for those who violate them. Always be passionate in carrying out your duties for the next year. Do not be weak even during a pandemic. Let’s work together to build a better, greater, more prosperous Undip and protect more unfortunate people,” continued the Rector.

“During the pandemic, Diponegoro University has provided assistance to tens of thousands of students affected by the pandemic, in the form of compensation, cash assistance, cost-reduction assistance, tuition fee exemption, tuition installments and so on. What Undip has done is proof that Undip is a campus that oriented its priority towards Indonesian people,” concluded Undip Rector.

The Diponegoro Inauguration Event 2021 was closed with a webinar about mental health by presenting Undip Faculty of Psychology lecturer, Dr. Phil Dian Veronika Sakti Kaloeti, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psychologist.
