Call for Papers 6th ICENIS of UNDIP Postgraduate School

SEMARANG – Diponegoro University (UNDIP) Postgraduate School invites academics and students to participate and submit their ideas and scientific work at the 6th International Conference on Energy, Environment, Epidemiology and Information System (ICENIS) which is scheduled for 4-5 August 2021. The theme set by the organizers is “The Impacts of Covid-19 Pandemic on Water, Environment, Energy, Information Systems and Strategies for their Adaptation and Mitigation”.

Chairperson of 6th ICENIS Committee of Postgraduate Schools of Undip, Prof. Dr. Tri Retnaningsih Soeprobowati, M.App.Sc., said the purpose of ICENIS is as a forum to share and discuss ideas for researchers, students and industry to analyze research results in the field of energy, environment , epidemiology, information systems and the development of coastal culture and environment. “This forum is also designed to facilitate the formation of networks among conference participants so that the world of research and development will increase in quality,” said Prof. Tri Retnaningsih Soeprobowati, on Tuesday (6/4/2021).

According to her, because in the conditions of Covid-19 pandemic, the committee choose the online organizer method so that the number of participants is not limited, but it is still safe. “We do not limit the number of participants, even for participants from abroad we do not charge a registration fee, it is free,” she added.

The International Conference on Energy, Environment, Epidemiology and Information System (ICENIS) is an annual international conference held by Diponegoro University Postgraduate School which presents speakers with international reputations from various universities from five continents. ICENIS, which was first held in 2016, featured speakers from universities in United States, Australia and various Asian countries. All scientific articles received since 1st – 5th ICENIS have been published in Advanced Science Letters Vol. 23 Number 3 March 2017 pp 2197-2635, E3S Web of Conferences Vol 31 (2018), E3S Web of Conferences Vol 73 (2018), E3S Web of Conferences Vol 125 (2019), and E3S Web of Conferences Vol 202 (2020).

For 6th ICENIS, the organizers have also made a contract for publication with the E3S Web of Conference so that there is a guarantee that the proceedings will be published on this year. The opportunity to submit abstracts of scientific articles is open until 30 April 2021 by submitting a manuscript to https://icenis.undip.ac.id/submission-and-registration/ . The theme chosen this year is “The Impact of Covid-19 Pandemic on Water, Environment, Energy and Information Systems, and How to Adapt and Mitigate It.”

The speakers who will appear at this year’s conference will come from five continents. They are Prof. Dr. Peter Gell from Federation University Australia who will present the theme “Comparing Catastrophes: The Influence of Impacts and Timelines on Prioritising Crises”; Prof. Dr. Magaly Koch from Boston University United States with the theme “Observing Water Resources from Space: From Flood Monitoring to Groundwater Assessment”; Prof. Dr. Fatimah Md Yusoff from University Putra Malaysia with the topic “Impacts of Covid-19 on the Aquatic Environment and Potential Implications on Aquaculture and Fisheries Industries”.

The other speakers are academics from University of Indonesia who are currently the spokesperson for Covid-19 Task Force, Prof. drh. Wiku Adisasmita, M.Sc., Ph.D who will deliver a presentation entitled “A Global Perspective of Learning from Covid-19 Pandemic in Present and Future”; Dr. Ruandha Agung Sugardiman from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry with the theme “The Impact and Lesson Learnt of Covid-19 Pandemic to the First NDC Indonesia”; and Dr. Budi Warsito from Undip Postgraduate School with the theme “Machine Learning Algorithm for Modeling Confirmed Cases of Covid-19.”

There is another speaker who has an international reputation, whose presence and knowledge is interesting to be followed regarding the Covid-19 outbreak, he is Prof. Robert Peacock. He currently serves as Chair of World Society of Victimology, and he will present his study about corona outbreak with an approach or study of victims of an outbreak including the relationship between the victim and the perpetrator and their interactions with the justice system. “This is the first time that ICENIS has succeeded in bringing in international humanities experts,” said Prof. Retnaningsih who is also a professor of biology.
