On Saturday (10/04), Statistics Department conducted an online training in the form of using R-Shiny to process spatial data in making applications. Chair of Statistical Computing and Data Science Group of Expertise, Dr. Budi Warsito, S.Si., M.Sc., explained in his speech that there were 4 Group of Expertises in Statistics Department, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University, namely Industrial Statistics, Financial Statistics, Government Statistics and Computing Statistics and Data Science. This activity is part of the dedication carried out by lecturers team of Statistical Computing and Data Science Group of Expertise. This activity is routinely held by each lecturer team as a form of dedication to have a good impact on society in every semester.
R-Shiny is an innovation for R programming language which is usually used for software and statistical analysis. R is a programming language below Python, so this training is very useful to be used in all programs that use R. Budi Warsito, S.Si., M.Sc., said that this training was intended to make the R Program user friendly by utilizing R-Shiny which is related to the user interface. Thus, when this training is complete, the results can be applied to all who use the R programming.
Dr. Budi Warsito, S.Si., M.Sc., said that this training was carried out online considering the situation in Indonesia which is still affected by Covid-19 pandemic. However since this training requires equipment that is not simple, if it is done offline, number of participants will be limited to adjust with the existing equipment. Meanwhile, when it is done online, participants can do it from their homes and are not limited by existing equipment. Therefore, with this training, it can be useful for everyone who needs it.
