Diponegoro University, Semarang (15/04/2021) – Four Lecturers of Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University, presented their scientific papers in front of the Board of Professors in the context of promotion as Functional Position of Professor. Three prospective professors are from Chemical Engineering Study Program and one prospective professor from Urban and Regional Planning Study Program. The presentation event lasted for one full day, started at 9 AM to 4 PM at Academic Senate Meeting Room, SA-MWA Building, Diponegoro University.

After listening to the presentation of all prospective professors as well as considering input and suggestions from all members of the Board of Professors, Plenary Session of Diponegoro University Board of Professors decided that the proposals for promotion as prospective professor for the four lecturers were approved and would be further processed to obtain a Professor Decree from Ministry of Education and Culture. This was conveyed directly by the Chairperson of Diponegoro University Board of Professors, Prof. Dr. Ir. Purwanto, DEA after leading the plenary session.

Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Ir. M. Agung Wibowo, M.M., M.Sc, Ph.D expressed his gratitude for the smooth process of plenary session for these four prospective professors.

“Alhamdulillah, the process has gone well. We ask for prayers from everyone for the smooth process in Jakarta for our four prospective professors. Thank you for the very conducive atmosphere as collaboration between faculty, university and lecturers. We are also very happy because we can carry out the Tri Dharma of higher education, so we can achieve the highest career possible, namely prospective professors,” said Prof. Agung Wibowo.

According to Prof. Agung Wibowo, superior human resources is a very important factor for Faculty of Engineering so that it can compete and excel in the national and international area. The prospective professors of Faculty of Engineering who are proposed for promotion include:

Dyah Hesti Wardhani, ST., MT., Ph.D (Chemical Engineering Department) delivered a paper entitled “Preparation of Biomaterials based on Glucomannan from Porang Flour (Amorphophallus oncophyllus) for Active Compound Coating as an Effort to Develop National Functional Food Products”.

Dr. Ir. Setia Budi Sasongko, DEA (Chemical Engineering Department) delivered a scientific paper entitled “Kinetics and Optimization of Drying Energy in an Effort to Improve Quality of Dry Food Materials”.

Dr. Aji Prasetyaningrum, S.T., M.Si (Chemical Engineering Department) presented a paper entitled “Development of Seaweed Processing Technology to Increase Food Security and Public Health Degrees”.

Dr. –Ing. Wiwandari Handayani, ST., MT., MPS (Department of Regional and City Planning) delivered a paper entitled “Urban and Regional Resilience: Concepts and Operationalization in Development Planning in Indonesia”.

The four prospective professors of Faculty of Engineering are promoted because they have met the requirements to get the highest functional promotion within the higher education unit, such as having a Doctorate academic certificate or equivalent, at least three years after obtaining a Doctorate, publishing scientific papers in international journals, and having work experience as a lecturer for at least 10 years.
