Dinda Ayu Arrafi’u Nilna Munaa (Chair of Diponegoro Theater): Present-day Kartini must be Able to Appreciate and Express Themselves

Talking about Raden Ajeng Kartini, of course there are many questions about the influence of women’s role today. Kartini was able to promote and fight for women’s rights in Indonesia. She became a hero for women’s emancipation so that women were recognized as equal with men and could take part in various fields of work.

For Dinda Ayu Arrafi’u Nilna Munaa, student of Department of Governance Science,  Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Diponegoro University as well as Chair of Diponegoro Theater, said that Kartini Day is a reminder that women have the same rights and opportunities as men to keep growing and learning. “Women must follow Kartini’s steps to be an inspiration for others. We as the younger generation must continue to work in accordance with our respective fields. As the generation of Kartini with the status of student, we have to continue pursuing our studies, have a passion for learning, think critically and creatively in order to achieve life goals,” she said.

“We have to be independent women, and stand for ourselves starting from small things, for example to not hesitate to convey or express opinions, have the courage to make decisions and be responsible for the mandate we carry,” she said. “Do not be afraid of prejudice or assumption that women are not suitable to be leaders, we must demonstrate the good quality of leadership so that we can be an example for others,” she continued.

Dinda hopes that in the current state of the Covid-19 pandemic, as the current Kartini, she will not lose her ideas to work, and be able to produce works and benefit others in any condition. “Let us raise the spirit of Kartini, every woman has great and extraordinary potential to participate in advancing the nation. I think Kartini today is Kartini who is able to appreciate and express herself as well as respect herself and others, without leaving her nature as a woman,” she concluded. (Linda-Public Relations)
