Institution of University Entrance Exams (Lembaga Tes Masuk Perguruan Tinggi / LTMPT) has just announced those who have passed Joint Entrance Selection of State Universities (Seleksi Bersama Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri / SBMPTN) 2021 on Monday (14/6/2021) at 03:00 PM. A total of 3,257 participants are accepted in Diponegoro University.
Like the previously announced National Entrance Selection for State Universities (Seleksi Nasional Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri / SNMPTN), of the 52 majors in Undip, the Psychology major is still the favorite choice. The total number of applicants who registered for Psychology major is 3,401, followed by Law Department with 3,391 applicants, Management Department with 2,786 applicants, Medicine Department with 2,583 applicants and in the fifth position Communication Science major with 2,072 applicants.
The Rector of Diponegoro University, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, SH., M. Hum., said that Undip is one of the best universities in Indonesia that is most in demand. “The high number of applicants is influenced by the fact that Undip is included as 3 universities whose graduates quickly get job. That is based on QS Rankings version,” explained Prof. Yos.
Meanwhile, responding to the high interest in the Psychology department, the Dean of Undip Faculty of Psychology, Prof. Dian Ratna Sawitri, S.Psi., M.Sc., Ph.D., said that there are many factors that make psychology as main choice. The active and intelligent branding that is able to attract high interest from prospective students, such as the active role of lecturers in society, students’ achievements at national and international levels, and the role of alumni in the world of work, as well as presenting information on faculty activities to the public managed by a professional public relations team are the efforts to establish good name pf Faculty of Psychology of Undip. Furthermore, Prof. Sawitri, her nickname, added, “Faculty of Psychology Undip has also succeeded in showing its competitiveness in this modern era. With a vision to become a center for the development of Indonesian family-based psychology that is adaptive to changing times in Southeast Asia in 2025, Faculty of Psychology Undip always supports Undip to become an excellent research university.
