SEMARANG – The result announcement of Joint Entrance Selection of State Universities (Seleksi Bersama Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri / SBMPTN) was just announced on Monday (14/6/2021) at 03:00 PM. Congratulations for those who have passed. However, for those who have not passed, there is still an opportunity through the Independent Exam (Ujian Mandiri / UM) path.

On Tuesday (15/6/2021), a trial of Independent Exam 2021 will be held and its registration is opened until June 17th 2021. The number of registered participants until June 15th 2021 reached around 17 thousand participants.

“There are technical differences in the implementation of Undip Independent Exam in 2020 with Independent Exam in 2021. In 2020 Undip used method of selection of report cards and portfolios, while in 2021 a computer-based written test is added which can be done from their respective domiciles,” explained Dr. Ir. Setia Budi Sasongko, DEA as the Head of LP2MP Undip in an interview on Tuesday (15/6/2021).

Furthermore, he explained, “Although it is done from their respective domiciles, they are still under control by the exam supervisors. The exam participants are required to use Zoom application and turn on the camera while taking the exam. This effort is made to optimize honesty in the selection of prospective student participants.”

Head of Center for Educational Admission and Promotion, Dr. Bambang Cahyono, MS., added, “There are two materials tested in the Undip Independent Exam in 2021; they are Academic Potential Test and Scholastic Potential Test. The Scholastic Potential Test to measure the general abilities of prospective students consists of five aspects, namely citizenship, numeric, logic, Indonesian, and English. While Academic Potential Test for measuring more specific things, for Science and Technology fields consists of Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Mathematics subjects. Meanwhile for Social and Humanities fields consists of History, Geography, Sociology, and Economics subjects.

The estimated quota of received students through Independent Exam is 50% of all for the Undergraduate Program level. From National Entrance Selection for State Universities path is 20%, and from Joint Entrance Selection of State Universities path is 30%. (Indra Ed. Utami – Public Relations)
