Semarang – Friday (6/25/2021) is the fifth day of Online Independent Exam of Prospective Undergraduate Students at Diponegoro University. In general, the online exam went smoothly. However, not all participants can take the exam according to the schedule due to illness and accidents.

One of them is a participant named Maulidya Ananta. She got an online exam schedule on Thursday (24/6/2021) at 10.30 AM. However, Maulidya’s condition is not fit because she is infected with the Covid-19 virus. This prevented her from taking the exam that day.

Another unfortunaye story is from a participant named Salsabila Rosmalia Dewi. She had an accident while taking the online exam on Tuesday (22/6/2021), so she failed to take the exam that day.

Calamity is something that cannot be predicted in advance. It is impossible to predict when it will happen, as experienced by several participants who failed to take the exam due to illness and accidents. Therefore, Undip sympathizes and provides a policy for participants who experience an unfortunate event to take the exam again. Dr. Ir. Setia Budi Sasongko, DEA., as Head of Education Quality Assurance and Development Institute (Lembaga Pengembangan dan Penjaminan Mutu Pendidikan / LP2MP) Undip, in his statement on Friday (25/6/2021), expressed his condolences for the participants who experienced the unfortunate events. The higher Covid-19 spike and the more easily transmitted virus variants caused some participants to have to undergo self-isolation due to exposure to Covid-19 virus.

“For this reason, we provide an opportunity for participants who experience unfortunate events, either accidents or who are sick due to exposure to COVID-19 to take online exams on a predetermined schedule on July 1st 2021,” he explained. He hoped that participants who are currently still sick due to exposure to Covid-19 and who have had an accident will soon be healthy and recover.

Meanwhile, for other participants who are undergoing a period of self-isolation, they are given dispensation to take the exam outdoors, not indoors. However the participants are still asked to show the environmental conditions before the exam begins.

Budi Sasongko advised participants who are currently still sick and experiencing unfortunate events to keep their spirits up. “Keep the spirit, prepare yourself to compete again,” he concluded. (Utami-PR)
