UNDIP Rector and Chair of Board of Trustees Observed the Implementation of Covid-19 Vaccination for Civitas Academica and General Public

SEMARANG – Diponegoro University (UNDIP) opened a Covid-19 Vaccination service center for the academic community and the general public which is implemented on August 5th – August 13th 2021. The vaccination service center is opened at Central Laboratory of Faculty of Medicine Undip at Diponegoro National Hospital, Tembalang, Semarang City.

To facilitate service, registration is done online by filling the form via form.undip.ac.id/vaccination/registration. The registration process will be followed up with the vaccination schedule, so that crowds can be avoided.

To ensure the smooth implementation of the vaccination service, Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum., directly observed the location on Thursday (5/8/2021). From the observation results, it is known that the vaccination process followed by the academic community and the general public was running well, in an orderly manner and maintaining health protocols.

Undip Rector said that the vaccine center is expected to help and accelerate the government’s acceleration program in vaccination. Prof Yos stated that Undip fully supports the government’s efforts in dealing with Covid-19 in the country, especially with efforts to achieve herd immunity through vaccination programs.

As is known, the government targets vaccination in August of 2 million doses per day. This effort is part of the acceleration of herd immunity or community immunity which is expected to be achieved this year.

Also participating in this direct observation is the Chair of Undip Board of Trustees, Prof. Mohamad Nasir MSi, Akt PhD; and Director of Diponegoro National Hospital, Dr. dr. Sutopo Patria Jati MM MKes. The special staff for Vice President, Prof. Nasir, said that this vaccine is assistance from government through the Ministry of Health. On the first day, 400 people were successfully vaccinated, while the total available vaccine is 3,070 doses.

The Director of Diponegoro National Hospital, Dr. dr. Sutopo, expressed his gratitude to the government for entrusting Undip Diponegoro National Hospital to carry out the Covid-19 vaccination. “We express our gratitude for the trust of government in choosing Undip as one of the centers for the Covid-19 Vaccination. We strive and provide the best facilities implemented by health workers namely qualified nurses and doctors,” he said.

According to him, the smooth implementation of vaccinations at Central Laboratory of Undip Diponegoro National Hospital cannot be separated from the role of Faculty of Medicine Diponegoro University. Besides including lecturers of Faculty of Medicine who are also experienced doctors at Faculty of Medicine Undip, students and resident doctors are also deployed to help the vaccination activities.

The Central Laboratory of Undip Diponegoro National Hospital is chosen as the right place to carry out vaccination. Besides being comfortable and spacious, the place is always kept clean so it is easy to carry out the vaccination with implementing health protocols. (PR team)
