Semarang – Student Organization of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Diponegoro University collaborated with Department of Cooperatives, Micro Enterprises, Industry and Trade of Semarang Regency to conduct socialization on Home Industry Products in Ngadikerso Village, Sumowono District, Semarang Regency.

This socialization activity was held as the beginning of a series of Kerso Makaryo Program organized by Student Organization of FISIP Undip and initiated by Community Service and Creative Economy Department of Student Executive Board of FISIP Undip 2021. Kerso Makaryo Program is part of the Wiradesa Program funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture as an effort to empower, assist and development of MSMEs in Ngadikerso Village based on sociopreneurship. Thus, MSMEs in Ngadikerso Village can play a role in answering the problems they face and develop the economy of Ngadikerso Village itself.

“We have carried out this Wiradesa Program to create pilot MSMEs that can later become role models for all MSMEs in the assisted villages. The program is sarting from the management of production management to marketing. So it can help improve the quality of the community’s economy,” said Agil Muhammadi as Head of Creative Economy Department of Student Executive Board of FISIP Undip.

The socialization regarding Home Industry Products attended by 20 MSMEs business actors is carried out since there is no understanding of regarding the urgency of the Home Industry Products permit by MSMEs actors in Ngadikerso Village. Home Industry Food Production Certificate is very important for food producers because it is the key to further focus on innovation in broader marketing strategies.

Several things were conveyed during the socialization conducted on September 12th 2021, including the importance of Home Industry Products and the flow of Home Industry Products management, issues that must be considered in obtaining Home Industry Products permit, as well as the importance of product marketing and branding through product comparison examples of MSMEs in other villages.

“After getting knowledge through this socialization, I hope that MSMEs actors in Ngadikerso Village can immediately take care of Home Industry Products as a form of responsibility to consumers regarding food safety which can later be facilitated and assisted by Student Executive Board of FISIP Undip,” said Mr. Nanda as Head of MSMEs Sector of Department of Cooperatives, Micro Enterprises, Industry and Trade of Semarang Regency.

“Thank you students of FISIP Undip, this management process is indeed quite difficult and we hope that students can be our companions in carrying out this program,” said one of the MSMEs entrepreneurs, Mrs. Supriati, who showed her enthusiasm for this socialization event.

Rara, as the Chief Executive of Socialization of Home Industry Products of MSMEs in Ngadikerso Village also said, “With the socialization and assistance for MSMEs in Ngadikerso Village, I hope that this can provide new and deeper insights to MSMEs actors in Ngadikerso Village so that villagers can be more creative and innovative in processing and developing local village products. Then the products can be marketed more broadly and compete with other products on the market. These local products also have a unique global taste that many people are interested in.”

The small things done by Student Organization of FISIP Undip hopefully can be an example for fellow students to work hand in hand in advancing Indonesian MSMEs and do real service to the community. (Dea Alvita & Feyza Syifa)
