On Tuesday (28/12), Diponegoro University (Undip) held a Monitoring and Evaluation of the Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah (KIP-K) Scholarship in the Poncowati Room of Patra Jasa Hotel, Semarang at 08.00 AM. This event was held to identify and monitor the problems and obstacles that occur among students receiving KIP-K scholarships, to find solutions to overcome these problems, as well as to evaluate the KIP-K scholarship program that has been run previously.

This event was also attended by the Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Budi Setiyono, S.Sos., M.Pol.Admin., Ph.D., represented by the Head of Academic Bureau and Student Affairs, Edy Surahmad, S.Pd., M.Sc.; Deputy Director for Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Nuswantoro Dwiwarno, S.H., M.H.; and Head of Undip Student Affairs, Muhammad Muntafi’, S.Sos. The committee also invited members of the Technical Team for the Scholarship Working Group (KIP-K and Affirmation of Higher Education) and the Indonesian Education Scholarship (BPI) at the Education Financing Service Center Yon Sugiarto, S.Si, M.Sc.

Representing the Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Head of Academic Bureau and Student Affairs, Edy Surahmad, S.Pd., M.Sc. in his speech revealed that the KIP-K scholarship program is a form of government concern in the field of education. The scholarship program aims to help prospective students who are struggling in the economy, but have a high level of motivation in the field of education to continue.

In addition, Edy Surahmad, S.Pd., M.Sc., explained that the Undip Student Affairs has also conducted a survey in the field to directly monitor KIP-K scholarship recipients. “In the end of this year, Undip through the Student Affairs conducted a survey in the field to see the actual conditions of the students,” he explained.

Edy added that there were many students who received KIP-K scholarships who excelled while studying at Undip. “Despite of the shortcomings in terms of economics, they have extraordinary achievements. These achievements are obtained when they have received an education at Undip,” added Edy.

The monitoring and evaluation of the KIP-K scholarship program was followed by material presentation by members of the Technical Team of the Scholarship Working Group (KIP-K and Affirmation of Higher Education) and Indonesian Education Scholarships (BPI). They explained about government policies and regulations in the KIP-K program. The presentation of the material was continued by the Deputy Director of Undip Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Nuswantoro Dwiwarno, S.H., M.H., who described the mechanism and monitoring of KIP-K scholarships that have been implemented at Undip.
