SEMARANG – The Psychology Postgraduate Study Program, Faculty of Psychology, Diponegoro University (UNDIP) received Good Accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). This status has been obtained since December 1, 2021, and is valid until December 1, 2026.

The Dean of Faculty of Psychology Undip, Prof. Dian Ratna Sawitri, S.Psi., M.Sc., Ph.D., said that the Good Accreditation status achieved by the Psychology Postgraduate Study Program was one of the best year-end gifts for the entire academic community of the Faculty of Psychology Undip. Moreover, previously the Psychology Postgraduate Study Program also received international accreditation from the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA). ‘”These achievements are encouragement for us in welcoming the following years,” she said, on Monday (12/27/2021).

Psychology Postgraduate Study Program has advantages over similar study programs at other universities. The advantage is its concentration of specialization in the field of family psychology and mental health. “We produce Masters of Psychology graduates who have competence in the fields of family psychology and mental health,” said Prof. Sawitri.

It is expressly stated that this achievement is the result of realizing Undip’s vision because it aims to produce students who can make quality research listed on SINTA 4 national journal articles or articles on international seminar proceedings indexed by Scopus. To produce qualified graduates, the faculty also invites a number of guest lecturers from within and outside the country as well as conducts training in writing scientific papers by inviting experts.

The Faculty of Psychology Undip also held a series of workshops in order to increase the ability of its masters students in conducting quality research. Meanwhile, the vision of the Psychology Postgraduate Study Program is to become an excellent psychology masters educational institution with a national and international reputation through research inspired by cultural values to improve the quality of life for Indonesian families by 2025.

Prof. Sawitri revealed that the vision was realized through missions that support the graduates to be excellent masters of Psychology. Its mission is to provide psychological education that is inclusive of other disciplines to improve the quality of life for Indonesian families.

In carrying out its mission, psychological research with an insight into the culture of the Archipelago was carried out and published at the journals of national and international levels. The Faculty of Psychology Undip also carried out community service to improve the quality of life of Indonesian families and conducted regular evaluations to improve quality, professionalism, capability, accountability, governance as well as independence in program implementation.

Undip Psychology Postgraduate Study Program is also active in collaborating with universities, institutions and other parties. This effort was made to support the improvement of the competence of the academic community and the quality of output in the fields of education, research, and community service.

The organizers of the Undip Psychology Postgraduate Study Program are determined to produce graduates who are capable of being program developers, policy makers, family empowerment facilitators, counselors, community mobilizers, consultants, educators, and researchers. Undip Psychology Postgraduate Study Program was established in 2018 based on the Decree of the Rector of Diponegoro University Number 699/un7.p/hk/2018 regarding the opening of the Psychology Postgraduate Study Program (S2) at the Faculty of Psychology of Diponegoro University.
