Be excited to return to Undip again and immediately complete the task as well as possible,” said Prof. Yos.

Prof. Yos stated that the students participating in Community Service Team 1 had maintained the good name of Undip. “Alhamdulillah, my children had successfully carried out Community Service duties as well as maintaining the good name of Undip. Our students are helping people everywhere, one of which is the Thematic Community Service Program in Lumajang, on Mount Semeru. It was something to be very proud of,” he said.

In addition, Community Service activities also provide a very valuable lesson for students. “I also received lessons on leadership, crisis management, planning, designing something, catching a problem, solving it while I carried out Community Service activities,” explained Prof. Yos.

The Head of Undip Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), Prof. Dr. Jamari, S.T., M.T., in his report explained that the activities of Community Service Team 1 of Academic Year of 2021/2022 were running well. “Alhamdulillah, the implementation of Undip Community Service of Academic Year of 2021/2022 by Team 1 went very well and smoothly,” said Prof. Jamari.

The activities of Undip Community Service of Academic Year of 2021/2022 were held on January 5, 2022 to February 15, 2022. It was participated by 2,354 students from all faculties at Undip and was guided by 103 field supervisors. The locations used for the implementation of Undip Community Service Team 1 were located in 23 provinces.

Prof. Jamari added that the implementation of Community Service activities followed the standard of health protocols and followed the status of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in each region, so that coordination would continue to be carried out with Bappeda or the local government.

The work program carried out by students was divided into 2 programs with the main theme of community empowerment during the pandemic with reference to 17 goals of SDGs. Furthermore, the program is focused on educating the public about the dangers of drugs. These programs are carried out in collaboration with related parties.

The second program is a student scientific program, including education on plastic waste management, monitoring community compliance with health protocols, mapping or developing tourist villages, and empowering communities based on the potential of their respective regions.

In addition to the Regular Community Service, currently Undip is also implementing Thematic Community Service of “Peduli Semeru”. “The team of Peduli Semeru has worked very well there and thank God the response of the community is amazing,” said Prof. Jamari. (Dhany – Public Relations)
