Post-Duty Webinar of Chemical Engineering FT UNDIP as Appreciation and Strengthening Friendship

Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering (FT), Diponegoro University (Undip) has successfully held a Post-Duty Webinar on Friday (25/03) at 01.30 PM  offline at the Meeting Room of Building B, 3rd Floor, Department of Chemical Engineering, FT Undip and online via the Zoom meeting and live broadcast on the UndipTV Youtube channel.

This webinar was held in honor of a professor from the Department of Chemical Engineering FT Undip who had officially entered his retirement period. The professor is Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang Pramudono, M.S. In addition, this is the first post-duty webinar held by the Department of Chemical Engineering of FT Undip.

The Dean of Faculty of Engineering Undip, Prof. Ir. Mochamad Agung Wibowo, M.M., M.Sc., Ph.D. expressed his gratitude for the dedication and contribution that has been given by Prof. Bambang. “Prof. Bambang has become a role model and a guide for all of us here. We are grateful for all of the contributions made by Prof. Bambang,” said Prof. Agung.

Prof. Agung stated that this webinar is one of the honors given to Prof. Bambang and he hoped that the friendship will be maintained. “This webinar is one of the great honors we give to Prof. Bambang and his family and we hope that the friendship will be strengthened,” explained Prof. Great.

Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering, Prof. Dr.Ing. Suherman, S.T., M.T., when opening the post-duty webinar, revealed the countless contributions that have been made by Prof. Bambang. “Thanks to his guidance and encouragement, currently the number of Undip Chemical Engineering lecturers with functional professorship positions is 21 out of a total of 34 lecturers. He also encourages Undip Chemical Engineering lecturers to continue to develop a leadership spirit. As a result, more than 60% of Undip Chemical Engineering lecturers get additional assignments as leaders, both at the faculty, institutional, and university levels,” he explained.

“In the field of organization, thanks to his guidance, the Chemical Engineering Department currently has 3 study programs, namely Bachelor of Chemical Engineering, Master of Chemical Engineering, and Doctoral Degree of Chemical Engineering, both regular and international classes. There are many more of his contributions for the progress and achievements of the Undip Chemical Engineering Department,” continued Prof. Suherman.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang Pramudono, M.S., delivered a post-duty speech with the title “Reflection of Service Period as Motivation and Inspiration for the Next Generation of Chemical Engineering”. According to him, based on the period of service that has been passed for approximately 47 years, a person can produce several ideas that can be used to advance Chemical Engineering, namely alumni dedicating their knowledge and experience to students or back to campus, becoming pioneers, pursuing fields that other people have not know yet, and measuring success in pursuing a career.

Prof. Bambang added that there are several contributions that need to be contemplated together, including changing the research paradigm, increasing human resources for excellent lecturers, making concrete contributions to the Undip Science and Techno Park, determining identity, and carrying out the role of the Chemical Engineering academics in the future.
