Resilient for The Future Becomes a Discussion in Guest Lecture Held by the Department of Business Administration FISIP UNDIP

The Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Diponegoro University (Undip) held a Guest Lecture with the theme “Resilient Tourism for the Future” presenting Edriana Pangestuti, S.E., M.Si., DBA (Chairman of UB Tourism Studies Center/Head of Tourism Laboratory FIA UB), on Thursday (19/5).

In her material on “The Post-Pandemic Tourism and Creative Economy Recovery Strategy”, Edriana conveyed the direction of the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia regarding Tourism and Creative Economy in 2021, including accelerating infrastructure development in 5 priority destinations, preparing a Calendar of Events in each destination, especially in 5 priority destinations, implementation of K4 aspects in every tourism destination so that tourists feel safe and comfortable, and making the creative economy as the locomotive of job creation, especially for sectors that absorb and drive the economy. The three programs of Kemenparekraf to be carried out are Innovation, Adaptation, and Collaboration.

Furthermore, she said that the steps to restore tourism and the creative economy included increasing the capacity of human resources (re-skilling and up-skilling by competency certification), revitalizing tourism destinations and infrastructure (consolidating management and governance of destinations, tourist villages, developing/revitalizing tourism destinations/facilities), increasing business resilience and competitiveness (providing incentives and access to capital, business standardization and CHSE certification, business reactivity), product and service innovation (quality tourism products, facilitation of product and service development, protection of intellectual property rights and digital transformation, appreciation of Indonesian creations), and market recovery and expansion (recovery of Wisnus, Bangga Berwisata #DiIndonesiaAja, #InDonesiaCARE; marketing of Ekraf products, Gernas Bangga Buatan Indonesia, #BeliKreatifLokal, #Adadiwarung; Preparation of border opening for foreign tourists).

“Kemenparekraf and Kemenkomarves initiated the Gerakan Bangga Buatan Indonesia in order to improve the creative economy and continued with the #BeliKreatifLokal program. Utilization of the National Economic Recovery Stimulus Fund in the creative economy sector is carried out through the Creative Economy MSME Marketing Support Program. Support is carried out through increasing the number of Creative Economy MSMEs onboarding in the digital marketplace and increasing people’s purchasing power for Creative Economy MSMEs,” she concluded.
