2022 THE Datapoints Impact Award is an assessment of UNDIP’s efforts in implementing and achieving the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) especially in addressing the impacts of climate change, including the implementation of energy efficiency and sustainability as well as other aspects such as environmental education and commitment to zero carbon or clean energy. The Sustainable Development Goals are a global development agreement agreed by approximately 193 heads of state, including Indonesia. The SDGs contain 17 goals and 169 targets which are a global action plan for the next 15 years (effective from 2016 to 2030), to end poverty, reduce inequality, and protect the environment.

2022 THE Datapoints Impact Award used 4 goals that are targeted with impact metrics that can be linked to institutional efforts on climate change and the environment: SDG 7 (access to affordable and clean energy), SDG 11 (sustainable cities and communities), SDG 12 (responsible consumption and production) and the most relevant is SDG 13 (climate action).

Several universities in Asia that are nominated for 2022 THE Datapoints Impact Award included Diponegoro University, University of Indonesia, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology, Iran University of Medical Sciences, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Kuwait University, National Changhua University of Education, and Padjadjaran University. Of the several nominees, Diponegoro University was ranked 1st (https://theawardsasia.com/2022/en/page/winners).
