In order to support Diponegoro University (Undip) as a World Class University, on Monday, September 5, 2022, the Faculty of Psychology Undip in collaboration with the Center for Career and Capacity Development Studies (CAREERS) held a Guest Lecture for the Master of  Psychology Study Program for the Technique on Scientific Writing class with the theme “Developing A Thesis Proposal for Postgraduate Students”. The targets in this activity are Psychology students who are pursuing master degree, in the preparation phase of making thesis proposals, thesis supervisors, as well as alumni of the Faculty of Psychology Undip who have careers in the academic field.

The Visiting Professor program at the Faculty of Psychology Undip is funded by the World Class University (WCU) Diponegoro University 2022 program. The Visiting Professor program is one of the programs that Undip can rely on to improve quality and quantity in various academic fields, especially concerning education, research, and innovation by inviting guest lecturers from overseas universities who are included in the QS 100 ranking as guest lecturers.

On this occasion, the guest lecturer of the activity was Prof. Bora Lee from Korea University. Prof. Bora Lee is an active lecturer at the Department of Education, Korea University. Korea University occupies QS Ranking 74 in 2022. Prof. Bora Lee completed her Ph.D at Pennsylvania State University in 2008 – 2013. She was active as a research assistant from 2004 to 2011 and completed her Postdoctoral Scholar in July 2013 – May 2015. Prof. Bora Lee’s research focus is on individual career development in the context of family, school, workplace and the wider socio-cultural environment. She is also active in scientific publications in reputable international journals since 2011 until now.

The visiting lecture was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology Undip, Prof. Dian Ratna Sawitri, S.Psi., M.Si., Ph.D. On that occasion, Prof. Sawitri highlighted the importance of exploring the literature, the process of recording important research points, gaps found, what to do, best time to read journal articles, how to write down reference sources according to the applicable writing system, and the importance of getting feedback from supervisors as well as colleagues. In the discussion, Prof. Bora Lee also underlined the importance of putting ideas into paragraphs and making paragraphs written coherently. The next activity with Prof. Bora Lee will be held on October 27, 2022 in the form of a Scientific Publication Workshop with the theme “Planning and Managing Research Projects in Career Development Area”.
