Semarang-Central Java (19/09). The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK), Diponegoro University (Undip) Semarang as the host will hold the Indonesian Fisheries and Marine Higher Education Leadership Forum (FP2TPKI), as well as a series of FP2TPKI 2022 meetings with the theme “Optimizing Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) to Face Challenges and Opportunities in Marine and Fisheries Management in the Industrial Era 5.0” on September 20-21, 2022. As a series of activities of the Indonesian Fisheries and Marine Higher Education Leadership Forum, a National Seminar with the theme “Society 5.0 and Disaster Resilience for Sustainable Coastal Development” will be held.

“Indonesian Fisheries and Marine Higher Education Leadership Forum and the Undip National Seminar will present Mr. Trenggono, the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries as the keynote speaker,” said Dr. Agus Suherman, S.Pi., M.Si., Head of the Undip Secretariat and Protocol Office who is also a Lecturer of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) Undip.

He added that Minister Trenggono is scheduled to deliver material related to the national marine and fisheries development policy that prioritizes ecological aspects as its guidelines.

“This is in line with the theme of seminars and conferences that raise the topic of sustainable coastal area management,” he said.

This activity was also followed by the distribution of fish seeds in the Jatibarang Reservoir (150 thousand nilem and tawes fish seeds) which was supported by the Marine and Fisheries Service of Central Java Province, the Semarang City Fisheries Department, and the Sukabumi Fish Seed Center (BBI), as well as the distribution of 400 packages of Gemarikan by the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.

The international conference on September 22, 2022 on environmental development in tropical and coastal areas or The 7th International Conference on Tropical and Coastal Region Eco Development (ICTCRED) with the topic “Society 5.0 and Disaster Resilience for Sustainable Coastal Development” will be held online.

“These three series of activities are expected to be a forum for university leaders, researchers, lecturers, practitioners and students to get the right formula in the development and management of coastal areas in a sustainable manner,” he continued.

“The event will be opened by Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum. The Governor of Central Java, H. Ganjar Pranowo, S.H., M.I.P., is scheduled to give a speech,” said Agus.

This national seminar and international conference is an annual agenda that aims to promote and disseminate scientific findings related to the ecological development of tropical and coastal areas initiated and implemented by FPIK Undip. “The committee invites presenters and participants of conferences and seminars to participate,” added Agus.

“The papers from the selected national seminar participants will be published in SINTA indexed journals, namely Fisheries Science and Technology Journal, BULOMA, Tropical Marine Journal, Tropical Aquaculture Science Journal, Marine Research Journal, and Aquacultura Indonesiana. Meanwhile, the papers of international seminars will be selected by a scientific committee from within and outside the country. Those who are selected will be published in the IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, Indonesian Journal of Marine Sciences (IJMS) and Food Research, all of which are indexed by Scopus,” explained Agus Suherman.

The committee also scheduled a field visit to the Undip Education Reservoir and a tour around the city of Semarang for seminar and conference participants.
