The students team of Faculty of Medicine, Diponegoro University (FK Undip) won the overall winner in The 12th Indonesian International Medical Olympiad (IMO) 2022 which was held at Ciputra University Surabaya, East Java.
In the final stage which took place on October 22, 2022, the FK UNDIP team came out as the overall champion after winning two gold medals and one bronze medal. The FK UNDIP team won two gold medals in the Infectious Diseases and Musculoskeletal competitions. While one bronze medal was won in the Digestive competition.
At IMO 2022, 357 teams from 92 Faculties of Medicine throughout Indonesia have participated, where each team consists of two people. IMO 2022 held several activities or competitions, including the Research Competition, Medical Olympiad, and Symposium.
In the Medical Olympiad category, there are 6 competitions, namely Cardiorespiratory, Digestive, Musculoskeletal, Neuropsychiatry, Genitourinary, and Infectious Diseases.
IMO 2022 is the largest and most prestigious international medical olympiad which is in great demand by medical students throughout Indonesia. The annual event initiated by the Indonesian Medical Student Senate Association (ISMKI) raises the theme “Upgrading the Future of Medicine with Digitalization 5.0”.
