In order to support the University’s vision to become a World Class University, Diponegoro University (Undip) actively participates in carrying out the program of Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely through Education, Research and Community Service activities. This commitment is carried out by providing quality education and research facilities as well as support for Community Service activities that are right on target. Through the Diponegoro Disaster Assistance Response Team (D-DART), one of these Community Service activities was implemented. D-DART, which is a unit under the management of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), served as the Disaster Task Force at Undip. The D-DART team consists of lecturers, educational staff and also students from various educational backgrounds, both medical and non-medical. Apart from that, D-DART also includes internal and external volunteers.
Regarding the Earthquake Disaster in Cianjur, Undip has sent 3 Teams: D-DART, Service Volunteers and P2KKN. D-DART sent a Surveillance Team shortly after the incident at the end of November 2022 (First Team). This team aims to identify needs and conditions at the incident location so that the next team can be equipped with appropriate medical and logistics needs. Based on the results of the Surveillance Team, the Medical Team then departed on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from the LPPM ICT Building Undip at 09.00 WIB. The deployment of the team which consists of doctors, nurses and students was carried out by the Head of LPPM, Prof. Dr. Jamari, S.T., M.T. The medical team is also equipped with experts in the field of psychology.
In his direction, dr. Achmad Zulfa Juniarto, M.Si.Med, MMR, Sp.And.(K), Ph.D, as General Chairperson of D-DART, said that the Medical Team was dispatched as part of Undip’s commitment to present for victims of natural disasters in Cianjur . “At D-DART, we work as a team, which generally begins with the departure of the Surveillance Team immediately after a disaster occurs. Furthermore, we are trying to periodically dispatch multiple Teams during the Disaster Cycle. This aims to help revitalize the victims after the disaster and also the team that we send is usually on duty for about 3-4 days and then replaced with the next team,” he added.
The medical team that was dispatched was Dr. Meidiana Dwidiyanti, S.Kp., M.Sc, Dr. Drs. Suroto, M.Pd, dr. Satrio Adi Wicaksono, Sp.An KAO and dr. Achmad Khoiru Zadit Taqwa. The team departed in three fleets carrying post-disaster logistics and medical needs. In addition, there are 7 students who are also members of this Medical Team.
