Semarang – Central Java (17/11). Another proud achievement was won by Electrical Engineering students at Diponegoro University. Two students majoring in Electrical Engineering class of 2020, namely Ariya Permana Putra and Guntur Awaludin Saptadi won gold and silver medals at the 2022 Tanoto Student Research Award (TSRA) competition at the Bandung Institute of Technology on November 6, 2022.

The 2022 Tanoto Student Research Award is a student innovation competition to offer real solutions for society in an increasingly challenging and rapidly changing world. The competition was held by carrying out the concept of cross-university and cross-scientific collaboration, where each competing team consisted of students from different campuses.

2022 TSRA was organized by the Bandung Institute of Technology together with the Tanoto Foundation and Tanoto Foundation’s partner campuses in the form of an Interdisciplinary Capstone Design Challenge (ICDC) activity, with the research theme “Education”. This activity is held online for approximately 6 months from May 2022 in the form of an activity named Capstone Design Challenge. The highlight of this competition was held offline at the Bandung Institute of Technology on November 3-6, 2022.

With the educational research innovation of “Teaching Aids to the Human Digestive System”, Ariya and his team won a Gold Medal with a score of 79.6, while Guntur and his team with the “PAHAMPOLY Innovation: Educational Innovation Integrated with Monopoly Games” where this product has also received a Creation Registration Letter from Director of Copyright, Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, managed to get a Silver Medal with a score of 75.5.

“The preparation that I do is of course in coordination with teammates from various campuses. We are preparing innovations in the form of teaching aids for the human digestive system, where this innovation adapts the theme this year to the field of education. We have made all the preparations for the team to the maximum, so that we get maximum results during the competition.” explained Ariya when contacted by the Undip Public Relations team, Thursday (17/11).

In line with Ariya, Guntur and the team have made various preparations to face the 2022 Tanoto Student Research Award (TSRA). “The preparation is quite long because the theme of this competition is different from other competitions. Our preparation is starting from reading journals related to research themes, then conducting data testing, then compiling and testing prototypes.” said Guntur, who is in charge as the UI/UX designer in his team.

The research achievements that have been achieved have not stopped these two students from innovating and competing. The two teams plan to take part in several research competitions such as the Student Creativity Program (PKM). “In my opinion, an achievement in a championship is not the end of a level of success, but how I can upgrade existing ideas, explore other potentials, and continue to try to give my best in other competitions is a parameter of my success in achieving.” said Ariya.

“I like participating in competitions in the form of LKTI. Then for the next bigger competition I plan to take part in a research competition from Puspresnas such as PKM. Currently I am also exploring the world of agrotechnology because I plan to take part in a research competition with the theme of agrotechnology. Insyaallah, if there is an opportunity I want to take part in Pilmapres 2023.” said Guntur.

It is hoped that an increase in research achievements like this will encourage other students, especially Undip Electrical Engineering students, to be more enthusiastic about achieving achievements and to be more active in conducting research and innovation.
