Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) Diponegoro University (Undip) routinely holds lectures. On the study which was held on Friday (27/1), DWP Undip reviewed the interesting theme of “Buying and Selling and Sharia Forms of Muamalah Towards Blessings” with Dr. Fakhrudin Aziz LC., M.A. (Lecturer of the Faculty of Sharia and Law of UIN Walisongo) as a resource person.

Starting the recitation event, Erni Agustianto as Deputy Chair of the DWP FPIK Undip as well as sohibul bait said that in this era the development of buying and selling and other forms of muamalah is extraordinary, especially since the Covid pandemic, everything has become completely online. “We must think in every buying and selling activity and the forms of muamalah that we do whether it is in accordance with Islamic law,” she said.

In her speech, the Chairperson of the DWP Undip, Asih Budiastuti Yos Johan Utama, said that the Qur’an has regulated law in such a way from the moment a person is not being born until birth until death, including their economic activities and everything. “Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala has arranged everything for human life, and lately there has been an increase in buying and selling online as stated which did not exist before. This is what Ustadz Fakhrudin will convey later,” she said.

“We all know that buying and selling is a practice of life around us every time, especially among women. How to make buying and selling in accordance with Islamic law and blessings? In carrying out daily life, especially being a mother who also wants to earn additional income and help the family economy and is a consumer person, we must know what to do so that we do not violate the rules of the religion that we believe in,” explained the Chair of the DWP Undip.

While delivering the material, Dr. Fakhrudin Aziz LC., M.A. said that buying and selling both online and in person is something that cannot be separated in everyday life. Sunnah to carry out entrepreneurship activities including buying and selling is limited by several sharia provisions.

“Regarding the practice of buying and selling in Islam, buying and selling in Fiqh terms is commonly referred to as bai’ which in general buying and selling is a transaction of two or more parties towards a commodity that can be utilized through a handover process in accordance with the terms and conditions,” he explained.

“Directly or indirectly, the practice of buying and selling has actually been carried out and practiced frequently and has even been a transaction since the time of the Prophet Idris. So Prophet Idris as the second Prophet already knows transactions. And as a transaction that has been known for a long time, Allah SWT firmly stated that the practice of buying and selling is halal as long as the conditions are in accordance with the hadith,” he continued.

He also revealed that whatever business we do as long as it is beneficial, then in fact these efforts are efforts suggested by the Prophet. The Messenger of Allah gave enthusiasm and motivation to people that as long as the practice of buying and selling complies with the provisions of the sharia, it will be worth worship because it is part of the struggle.
