Sragen-Central Java. Community Service (KKN) Team of Diponegoro University (Undip) held education and simulation related to fire prevention for school children and local residents together with the Fire Department of Sragen Regency, located at Towo Field, Denanyar Village, Tangen District, on Saturday (28/01). This activity is one of the monodisciplinary work programs of KKN students from Diponegoro University.

The Fire Department Team of Sragen Regency was present directly as a simulator or demonstrator of this part of the simulation. The activity, which was opened by the Head of Denanyar Village and attended by village officials, 3 Elementary Schools, 1 MTs and 1 Kindergarten as well as local residents in Denanyar Village, received more or less the support of 250 participants who were very enthusiastic about this activity.

Denanyar Village is one of the villages experiencing extreme drought and heat, so fires have the potential to become a problem for Denanyar Village residents when the dry season arrives. Based on the background of this problem, which also coincided with the National K3 month, this was the reason Undip KKN students held this activity.

“Together with the Fire Department, I want to grow the young generation of Denanyar Village who are responsive to disasters, especially fires,” replied Naufal Azka Riadi, a Naval Engineering student at Undip, as the executor of the activity as well as a KKN student at Diponegoro University when asked why he was carrying out this activity by Mr. Anton as a representative from the Fire Department Team of Sragen Regency.

The activity was extraordinary because for the first time KKN students invited the Fire Department Team of Sragen Regency to carry out a simulation for Sragen residents and a fire truck which is considered a new and unique thing for Denanyar Village residents. This activity is enough to invite local residents to leave their homes and take part in the activity.

“It’s really fun, Mas, that’s great. It’s a loss if someone doesn’t participate!” said Khanza, one of the participants from SD Negeri 1 Denanyar.

“My hope is that this activity can be memorable and the participants including residents and students will get useful knowledge in the future. This big event is inseparable from the Undip Denanyar KKN team who have helped run it and thanks to Ms. Riza Susanti as the Field Supervisor who has guided and supported me from the start,” said Naufal Azka Riadi as the organizer of the event after the activity was over.

Under the guidance of Field Supervisor of Tangen District, Ms. Riza Susanti, S.T., M.T., Oktavianto Eko Jati, S.Pi., M.Si. and Dr. Sri Isdadiyanto, S.Si., M.Si., KKN students in the Tangen District, Sragen Regency, were directed to be able to carry out work programs that were innovative, applicable and beneficial to the community.
