Capture Project UNDIP Won Silver Medal in 2023 Thailand Inventors’ Day

The Diponegoro University (Undip) student team again won an award in an international competition. The Undip Capture Project team won a silver medal at the 2023 Thailand Inventors’ Day event which is part of the Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation, and Technology Exposition (IPITEx). The international research competition organized by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) took place from February 2-6, 2023 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center (BITEC), Bangkok, Thailand.

Team members consist of Tegar Indera Hidayat (S1 Student in Capture Fisheries 2020/ Team Leader), Pranata Candra Perdana Putra (S1 Student in Capture Fisheries 2019), Zahwatul Ulla (S1 Student in Capture Fisheries 2019), Cindy Nurochmah (S1 Student in English Literature 2019), Rizkar Al Akbar (S1 Student of Electrical Engineering 2020). With their innovation entitled “Fish-Caller Based on the Internet of Things (IOT) to Increase Fisheries Productivity in Artisanal Fishers”, the Undip student team managed to get a silver medal among thousands of other innovations from various countries.

The Capture Project team won an award in the Mechanics/Engines/Machinery/Manufacturing Process category. The 2023 Thailand Inventors’ Day is an international event attended by 24 countries with 456 innovations, where Indonesia sent 92 of its best innovations.

This success and achievement cannot be separated from collaborative work in the Capture Project research and innovation community at the Capture Fisheries Workshop, Capture Fisheries Department, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) UNDIP. Under the direction of Kukuh Eko Prihantoko, S.Pi., M.Si. as the supervisor of the student team, the Undip Capture Project Team was able to show their best and interesting innovations in international competitions.

“There are many challenges in the development of this innovation, but the collaborative work of students across study programs that was initiated at the Capture Fisheries Department turned out to be able to compete in international events. Hopefully this innovation will complete the results of Undip’s innovation products and benefit the community. Congratulations to the entire Capture Project Team for their achievements and hopefully there will be more technological innovations that are beneficial to society,” said Kukuh optimistically.
