More than 50 members of UKSA-387 Undip are involved in coastal clean-up activities on Menjangan Besar Island – Karimunjawa Islands. Coastal clean up aims to clean the coastal environment from inorganic waste such as plastic waste, glass, tires, ropes, and others. The coastal clean up activity that was carried out this time was part of a series of activities for the Open Water Training (LPT) UKSA-387 Undip which was held on March 10-16, 2023. Apart from the Coastal Clean Up activities during the LPT, they also carried out diving certification activities, introduction to underwater photography and coastal ecosystem data collection.

As an embodiment of the Tri Darma of higher education in community service, UKSA-387 Undip takes the role of being the front guard in the city of Semarang in underwater assistance that requires the involvement of a diver. During the LPT, apart from being trained in diving skills, the members were also provided with material for training in rescue both on land and at sea.

The Open Water Training Activities (LPT) which are routinely carried out every year are expected to be able to produce UKSA-387 Undip members who are tough, reliable divers, always ready to be involved in humanitarian activities and able to preserve the Karimunjawa marine environment.
