Diponegoro University Won a Gold Medal in the World Young Inventors Exhibition in Malaysia

Diponegoro University students have again made achievements on an international level. This time the achievement was made at the World Young Inventors Exhibition where four Undip students won gold medals.

The World Young Inventors Exhibition (WYIE) is an international event that displays the innovative work of young inventors from various countries around the world. This event provides an opportunity for young inventors to show their inventions, share ideas, and compete with other young inventors.

Undip students who competed in the World Young Inventors Exhibition (WYIE) are Rafi Zulmy Saputra, Frans Febrio Siagian and Revinda Aradea Adat from the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (Capture Fisheries Study Program) and Supo Firza Rendishatara from the Faculty of Law. An innovation entitled “Multi-purpose Portable Data Collector for Conducting Underwater Research based on Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT)” in the Agriculture category was awarded a gold medal.

“I feel very proud of their achievement. Hopefully this achievement can boost interest in the Capture Fisheries Study Program. Many new sciences are interesting and challenging for the younger generation to study,” said the Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Prof. Ir. Tri Winarni Agustini, M.Sc., Ph.D., in Semarang City, Tuesday (16/5).

Prof. Tri gave a message to the team to stay enthusiastic and never give up. “Continue to work for the advancement of fisheries and maritime affairs in the future,” she stressed.

WYIE 2023 was held on May 11-13, 2023 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia. More than 730 inventions from 19 countries participated at the event. The countries that took part in the competition are Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Korea, UAE, China, Philippines, Bangladesh, India, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Australia, USA, Laos, Vietnam, Oman and Ireland.
