“We don’t want Diponegoro University’s graduates to be number two, three, or four. We want the graduates to be leader in industrial world,” Diponegoro University (Undip) Rector Prof. Yos Johan Utama said while Undip received donation of educational equipments from PT. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (PT.TMMI) at Hall of Industry Engineering of Undip, Tembalang, Semarang, on Friday (March 9, 2018).

“This donation will complement our needs in teaching. As it happened that Undip had announced this year as The Year of Laboratory, so we will renew our equipments and facilities of our laboratories. It is for facing the Second Industrial Revolution era. As we knew that the key of higher education is research, and the appropriate laboratory will help us to create leaders for industrial world,” Rector said.

President Director PT. TMMI Warih Andang Tjahjono said the activity is a CSR (corporate social responsibility) of PT. TMMI, which is a program titled “Toyota Berbagi Ilmu” donated laboratory equipment of 1 Unit Laboratorium Lean Manufacturing, 1 Unit Laboratorium Lean Production System and 1 Unit Machine of Kijang Innova.

“The donations are for providing real simulation of industrial world to students so it can be a bridge to create a ready human resource. Undip has become a role model of higher education for the program ‘Toyota Berbagi Ilmu’ as this university is one of 10 best universities based on Ministry of Education, Research, and Technology evaluation 2017. We hope Undip students will answer challenges of the link and match between industrial and educational world,” Warih said.***
