Diponegoro University  (Undip) added three professors from Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Faculty of Engineering, and Faculty of Social Science and Political Science.

The three new professors are Prof. Tri Winarni Agustini delivering her speech titled “Future Food Product Based on Fish Sources”, Prof. Syafrudin speaking of “Sustainable Waste Management – an Effort To Improve Urban Infrastructure” in his speech, and Prof. Naili Farida who delivered her speech of “Customer Relationship Marketing”. They get confirmation as professor in a ceremony at Hall of Prof. Soedarto SH, Undip Campus, Tembalang, Semarang, on Wednesday (March 14, 2018).

In her speech, Prof. Tri Winarni Agustini said that food consumption orientation is currently shifted to special functions such as restoring body systems due to one of nutritional deficiencies. It has been known that fish contains bioactive compounds which have certain functional natures. Spirulina  is one kind of microalgae that has rich protein and other micronutrients required by health of human body.

Prof. Syafrudin said in his speech that population growth, urban areas development and changes in food consumption patterns will increase volume/tonnage, types, and characteristics of waste. Nowadays, waste is one of big issues related to the environment, especially in urban areas, and it has also happenned in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Prof. Naili Farida explained that SMEs (Small and Middle Entreprises) are one of tough sectors in Indonesian economics as the SMEs are able to overcome economic crisis and recession. Therefore, SMEs played  central role to participate in ASEAN economic community, as opportunities and challenges of Indonesia’s development has a great opportunity to exploit the ASEAN market.

In his speech, Undip Rector Prof.Yos Johan Utama said, “In the middle of the 4th industrial revolution which is marked by Big Data, artificial intelligence, robotics, etc, as well as its disruptive impact, so as Undip academicians we must quickly adapt to the world changing, we have continously to do research and reviews. Principally, we face the absolut choice: continously make innovation or to be marginalized nation.”

“As a scientist, Prof. Ir. Tri Winarni Agustini Msc, P.hD has tried to find various innovations for future food availability based on fish sources. The efforts, of course, are for better food availability to human beings,” Rector said.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Ir. Syafrudin Ces Mt. has  developed innovation in sustainable waste management for improving urban areas. “Of course, it is a sterling effort for better environment to people,” Rector said.

Rector Yos Johan Utama said that Prof. Dr. Dra. Naili Farida Msi has also tried to make innovations in business administration, especially in customer relationship marketing (CRM). “The essence, paradigm, and model of CRM among SMEs in Indonesia must be useful for human beings,” Rector said.

“I hope Prof. Ir. Tri Winarni Agustini Msc Phd, Prof. Dr. Ir. Syafrudin Ces Mt, Prof. Dr. Dra. Naili Farida Msi will continously produce qualified and updated scientific works as well as able to preserve their good integrity both as human being and teacher,” Rector said.***
