FEB UNDIP Students Achieve Best Paper Awards in Brunei

Undip students, specifically Muhammad Rizal Hidayat (Islamic Economics 2017), Rizky Tri Utomo (Islamic Economics 2016), and Khoirun Nisa (Economics and Development Studies 2016) have won the “Best Paper Award” for Undergraduate Programs in Islamic Economics and Finance Parallel Session in the 2019 Call for Paper Competition The 2nd International Conference on Business, Economics and Finance (ICBEF).

ICBEF is an international level conference in the fields of business, economics, and finance held by the School of Business and Economics at the University of Brunei Darussalam (NB: Universiti Brunei Darussalam currently occupies the 10th best universities in Southeast Asia according to the QS World University Rankings version). This year’s conference raised the theme: “New Technologies, Dynamic Business Environment, and Growth for Future”.

This conference held a call for paper competition. In the abstract selection, the committee received more than 80 abstracts from 19 different countries (including New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States, France, United Arab Emirates, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia). After proceeding to full paper selection, it filtered to 53 full papers to be presented to the event. A total of 56 presenters from 9 different countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, Japan, Pakistan, Nigeria, and the United States) were invited to present their research in 16 parallel sessions. For the record, of the 56 presenters invited, only three presenters were still undergraduate students (ie Rizal, Rizky, and Nisa). The rest are students with a title of master, doctoral, or lecturer with doctoral and even professor degree.
