Vocational International Program (VIP) of 4th Undip Vocational School

The Vocational International Program is an annual program organized by the UNDIP Vocational School. This year, the Vocational School is holding its 4th VIP from September 1 – September 12 2020. This program will be a forum for international students from all over the world and local students to learn about architecture, business and culture as an introduction to Indonesia.

At this Summer School, we have participants from Indonesia, Ghana, India, Zambia, Pakistan, Palestine, Ghana, Gambian, Kenya, Japan, Congolese, Mauritanienne. On September 1, 2020 this event will be opened directly by the Rector of Diponegoro University Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum and attended by Prof. Dr. Ir. Budiyono, M.si. as the Dean of the Diponegoro University Vocational School.

In 2017, we held a VIP program in Semarang. In 2018, we have Bangka and Boyolali as our VIP cities. Last year, we held VIP in Semarang and Wonosobo. This year, we are trying to do something unique. With the topic of Introduction to Virtual Indonesia, we will invite participants to experience a virtual VIP or so-called Summer School from a very comfortable place. Inside the house.

Some of the activities we plan to do at this VIP are:

  • Virtual tour Indonesia Ring of Fire
  • Indonesian Accents, Slangs, and Local Languages
  • Cash course Nusantara Architecture
  • Introduction to Indonesian Culture: The Uniqueness of Indonesia
  • From Plant to Plate; How to Engineer the Indonesian Cuisine
  • Tips and tricks to increase income for students
  • A smart way to manage financial expenses for students
  • Building Entrepreneurship through Passion
  • Strengthening local SMEs for global competitiveness

As well as a great discussion regarding “Languages and Cultures around the World” with our guest lecture which speaks 12 languages: Mr. Aron Bence Laki.

The Leader of this 2020 Summer School Activities, Previari Umi Pramesti, S.T., M.Ars, expressed her hope, “We hope that all participants can enjoy this activity, not only to understand Indonesian culture but also to get to know and understand other cultures from your home country. VIP is expected to be a forum for students from Indonesia and from other countries to exchange stories, experiences, and have further discussions about the beauty of differences in culture, language, heritage, and many more.
