Empowerment for The Importance of Complete Basic Immunization

Rembang – Team I Community Service Undip 2020 did an empowerment for the importance of complete basic immunization. This activity was done together with integrated service post (Posyandu) in Lodan Wetan on Tuesday, January 14th at Aster II; Thursday, January 16th at Aster IV; Saturday, January 18th at Aster III; and Monday, January 20th at Aster I on 09.00 – 12.00 WIB.

 

This empowerment was done by But Friday, a student from Faculty of Public Health. She discusses about the introduction of immunizations and vaccines, immunization targets, PD31 (diseases that can be prevented by immunization), in infants such as diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), measles, hepatitis B, tuberculosis, polio myelitis, hemophilus influenza type b (Hib) infection, Post-Immunization Incidents (KIPI), safety vaccine and immunization, the impact of not implementing the immunizations, basic Immunization schedule and others.

This activity was attended by Posyandu committee, mothers with infants or toddlers. By this empowerment, it is hoped that the people especially mothers with infants will be motivated to do the complete immunization towards their babies based on its schedule. Also, the committees of Posyandu were expected to share the information about the importance of immunization for the mothers with infants or toddlers and to remind mothers to come to Posyandu to do the immunizations.
