Undip Rector: Undip is Ready to Educate Students with Morals, Academics, and Work Skills

Semarang, Central Java (1/9). Diponegoro University (Undip) held a New Student Admission event for Study Programs Outside the Main Campus University of Diponegoro (Program Studi di Luar Kampus Utama / PSDKU) and Vocational School, as well as welcoming event for participants of Free Learning Student Exchange Program (Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka / PMM) for Academic Year of 2021/2022 on Tuesday (1/9).

Undip Rector, Prof. Yos Johan, S.H., M.Hum., welcomes new students for their struggle so that they are accepted in Study Programs Outside the Main Campus University of Diponegoro located in Pekalongan, Batang, Rembang campuses, and also collaboration class at Demak campus with Vocational School at Undip main campus.

“Welcome and congratulations on joining Undip,” added the Undip Rector who is often called Prof. Yos.

Furthermore, Prof. Yos said that Undip was ready to educate and prepare students with academic knowledge, morals, character education and various skills to be ready to work.

“Undip is committed to educate and prepare its students with morals and academic knowledge, as well as equip them with the ability to be ready to work,” explained Prof Yos.

Therefore, Undip prohibits bullying in New Student Admission event for new students since it is not a part of forming students with good character. Undip will also take strict action against students who bully new students, including lecturers who allow bullying activities.

Meanwhile, Undip Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Budi Setiyono, S.Sos, M.Pol.Admin, Ph.D, in his report said the number of new Undip students for Academic Year of 2021/2022 was 561 students. The accepted students number includes Diploma-3 students at Batang Campus with a total of 144 people; Diploma-3 students at Pekalongan Campus with a total of 86 people; Diploma-3 students at Rembang Campus with a total of 68 people; Diploma-3 students at Demak Campus Cooperation Program with a total of 45 people, Undergraduate students of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Rembang Campus with a total of 82 people; and Vocational Program – Vocational School as many as 136 people.

“The new students will officially be confirmed as students as well as being part of the 63,381 Undip students this year,” he said.

On the same occasion, Head of Undip Secretariat and Protocol, Dr. Agus Suherman,S.Pi.,M.Si, added that new students must take part in Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (Pengenalan Kehidupan Kampus bagi Mahasiswa Baru / PKKMB) on September 1st – 2nd 2021, and Character Education Activities will be held on September 3rd – 5th 2021 online at their respective faculties/schools/study programs.
