UNDIP Rector’s Message: Instill the Spirit of Eid Al-Fitr to Increase Faith and Quality of Service

Diponegoro University (Undip) has just held a Halal bi Halal event on Monday (09/05) at 10:00 AM online/virtually via the Zoom meeting platform. Although the event was held online/virtually, it did not reduce the essence of the Halal bi Halal event which is annually held after the month of Ramadan.

This event was attended by the Undip Rector, the Chair of the Board of Trustees, the Chair of the Academic Senate, the Vice Rectors, the Deans of Faculties or Schools and their staff, the Chairperson of the DWP Undip, lecturers, education staff, students, and Undip alumni.

The Halal bi Halal event was filled with tausiyah by the Chairman of the Undip Board of Trustees, Prof. Drs. Mohamad Nasir, M.Si., Akt., Ph.D. The event began with the recitation of the Qur’an verses, namely QS Ali-Imron verses 133-136 by Undip student, Fadhilah Khairunnisa.

In his speech, the Rector of Diponegoro University, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum., wished all the invitees a Happy Eid Al-Fitr 1 Syawal 1443 H. “I represent the leaders and management of Diponegoro University, I apologize for any mistakes, inconveniences, or anything that is not pleasing between us. Ladies and gentlemen, with this sincere intention to cleanse ourselves, it will become a great spirit within us to always improve our performance as part of our worship. I would like to thank all parties who have worked hand in hand all this time to produce best services at Undip that are recognized both nationally and internationally,” said Prof. Yos.

Furthermore, Prof. Yos said that after Eid al-Fitr, the level of piety is also expected to continue to increase. “The piety is expected to appear in the form of real crystallization. It can be in the form of gratitude and effort to do something even better,” he said.

In addition, he also conveyed that we should always be grateful for all the blessings of Allah SWT. “In terms of the form of gratitude, of course we as the Undip academic community must be grateful for everything that has been given by Allah SWT. Related to the rankings, Alhamdulillah Undip is always in the top 10 nationally and included in the world rankings. On the other hand, as a form of gratitude, we are obliged to improve the quality of our services,” added Prof. Yos.

Meanwhile, Prof. Nasir delivered a tausiyah about the meaning of Halal bi Halal activities which have become a tradition for generations in Indonesia. “In Halal bi Halal, there is nothing we hope for unless we forgive each other. The point is that we forgive each other,” he explained. Then the tausiyah was closed with a prayer led by Prof. Nasir. (Dhany – Public Relations)
