Diponegoro University Achieves Ranking of 241 Best Universities in Asia by QS WUR Asia 2021 Version

Realizing its mission to become a World Class University, Diponegoro University (Undip) shows its competence with proud achievements. QS World University Rankings Asia (QS WUR Asia) is part of the QS World University Rankings which lists the rankings of various universities and institutions in the world as well as for regions, one of which is the Asian region. In its assessment, QS WUR Asia assesses 11 indicators, which include academic reputation and graduates, publications, citations, foreign lecturers and foreign students.

Based on the results of QS WUR Asia 2021 ranking released on Wednesday, November 25th 2020 on https://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/asian-university-rankings/2021 Undip is ranked 9th nationally and becomes the 241th best university in Asia. This result increases from the previous year’s position at 281-290 at the Asian level (QS WUR Asia 2020). With the increasing ranking in Asian level, this is a reflection of the increasing quality of Undip. This success is certainly the result of hard work and cooperation from all parties to make Undip to be a university with high integrity. Undip Rector congratulated on success and achievements of Undip academics and Alumni for their contribution and participation. This is also the result of the synergy of 3 Undip organs, namely Rector, Board of Trustees, and Academic Senate who also escort Undip to improve its quality towards being ranked in the top 500 of world ranking (World Class University).

Apart from Asia and international level, Undip also focuses on maintaining a good reputation as one of legal entity state universities (Perguruan Tinggi Negeri Badan Hukum/PTNBH) in Indonesia. Undip supports lecturers to conduct research and to produce qualified and highly reputable journals (indexed by Scopus). Undip also supports students’ positive activities, both on-campus learning activities and off-campus learning activities as an implementation of “Merdeka Belajar” policy. By improving the quality of human resources, facilities, and infrastructure for teaching and learning activities, Undip hopes to achieve better achievements in the future.

Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, SH., M.Hum. expresses gratitude for the achievements. “The achievements is the beginning step for Undip to be a world class university, supported by good quality of human resources and student achievements both at national and international levels”, he said.
