UNDIP’s Performance is in the Second Best Position at the League of Legal Entity State Universities

The Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology officially announced the decision of the General Director of Higher Education, Research, and Technology Number: 135/E/KPT/2021 regarding the Award for Achievement of Key Performance Indicators of State Universities.

In the context of measuring the performance indicators of higher education institutions to create adaptive universities based on more concrete outputs, the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology has carried out the measurement of Key Performance Indicators of State Universities in 2020/2021. The award for the Achievement of Performance Indicators of higher education is also implemented. The categories in this award include Key Performance Indicators of League of Legal Entity State Universities; Key Performance Indicators of League of State Universities Public Service Agency; Key Performance Indicators of League of Units at State Universities; Key Performance Indicators of League of Art Unit at State Universities; Excellence Award of Key Performance Indicators of League of Legal Entity State Universities; Excellence Award of Key Performance Indicators of League State of Universities Public Service Agency; and Excellence Award of Key Performance Indicators of Units at State Universities.

Diponegoro University is ranked 2nd and awarded for the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) with a total of 70 achievement points, 673 growth points, position: High, 10%.

KPI is a performance measure for universities that are adaptive and based on more concrete outcomes. This has become a measuring instrument to accelerate the implementation of the Free Learning – Independent Campus Program. Every State Universities and Higher Education Service Institutions within the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology are guided by the key performance indicators in setting its targets, compiling contract documents or performance agreements, implementing KPIs, monitoring KPIs, evaluating KPIs, making improvements on KPIs, and reporting achievement results.

The latest KPI regulated in the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 3/M/2021 has 8 key indicators, namely: 1) the quality of graduates as measured by their ability to get decent jobs; 2) students getting off-campus experience; 3) the quality of lecturers as measured by lecturers doing activities outside the campus; 4) teaching practitioners on campus; 5) lecturers’ work is used by the community and can be recognized internationally; 6) study programs in collaboration with world-class partners; 7) collaborative and participatory classes; and 8) international standard study programs.

The KPI principles are to increase the relevance of universities to the needs of industry, business, and the world of work; give universities the freedom to choose the advantages they want to develop; and prioritize goals so that universities can focus on pursuing the most important changes.

The Rector of Diponegoro University, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum, expressed his gratitude to all parties, the entire academic community, alumni and Undip extended family for these achievements. “This is a reflection of the improvement of quality of graduates, lecturers, and Undip curriculum,” said Prof. Yos at the 64th Anniversary of Diponegoro University which was held on Friday (15/10) in the Prof. Soedarto SH Building, UNDIP Tembalang campus. “This achievement also proves that Undip is one of the top universities in Indonesia,” he concluded.
