Proudly Present! UNDIP Students Won National Champion in Aquaforia Competition at Sriwijaya University

Diponegoro University – Semarang (26/10). Proud news comes from the Diponegoro University’s Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Aquatic Resources Management (MSP) Undergraduate Program, which succeeded in bringing home the 2nd place trophy in the national level essay and best paper competition at the Aquaforia competition event at Sriwijaya University, Palembang, which was held on October 11-12, 2023.

The Aquaforia Competition is a prestigious event organized by the Aquaculture Student Association, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Palembang. This event aims to arouse students’ interest in contributing to the existence of Indonesian waters and their resources in the form of writing/essays. The ideas and innovations outlined in this article can contribute to the management of water resources that will benefit society and the progress of the nation.

There were 30 participants from various universities taking part in the Aquaforia competition. The category that the Undip MSP Team participated in was the Himakua Paper Competition. At the end of the round, the MSP FPIK Undip (Water Resources Management) Team was announced, consisting of Dwi Andreyan Choirull Zuda (MSP Study Program Class of 2021); Adinda Mei Erawati (MSP Study Program Class of 2021); and Ahmad Fajriyanto (MSP Study Program Class of 2022) won 2nd place in the national essay and best paper competition.

In an interview with the Public Relations team, Dr. Churun Ain, S.Pi., M.Si. as Supervisor, expressed his pride in the three students who had achieved achievements for Diponegoro University. Furthermore, he revealed that the preparations made before participating in the competition were conducting research to create innovations, looking for data related to problems, and looking for international journal sources.

Head of the Aquatic Resources Department as Coach of the MSP Student Association, Dr. Ir. Suryanti, M. Pi. added, “From this achievement, it is hoped that students will be more creative and innovative and motivated to take part in prestigious competitions in the field of scientific research at national and other international levels.” (Ut-Public Relations)
