19 UNDIP Delegates Participated in the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2023 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, Malaysia, November 7-9, 2023

Diponegoro University (Undip) continues to make internationalization efforts as part of increasing Undip’s visibility at the international level and is committed to realizing it as a world-class university. One form of this effort is demonstrated in Undip’s involvement in international events, one of which is the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2023 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, Malaysia, November 7-9, 2023.

The QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2023 explored the intersection between universities and the future of work and how institutions in the region can deliver the proper outcomes for students through a more creative and thoughtful approach to education.

QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2023 also discussed strategies for developing students’ creativity, adaptability and critical thinking skills; how industry can link with universities to build talent; new areas of industrial research partnerships; and how AI is impacting the sector. Through discussions between experts from academia, industry and policy, the conference provides a better understanding of how universities can prepare students for the ever-changing landscape of work and society.

More than 1000 delegates and 88 universities across Asia Pacific gathered to explore how regional, national and global collaboration can strengthen the role of universities as key drivers of change in society. Universities in the Asia Pacific are coming together and continuing to focus on ensuring that their graduates are equipped with the relevant skills and knowledge to succeed in the workplace despite many disruptions in the world of work, such as the rise of automation and the gig economy.

The agenda theme for the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2023 is Creating the Right Outcomes: Universities and the Future of Work in the Asia Pacific, which focuses on:

  10. Focus 10: Learning Experience

Aiming to strengthen collaboration and follow up on the results of the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2023, Diponegoro University sent 19 delegates. The delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Ir. Ambariyanto, M.Sc., Vice Rector for Research, Innovation and Cooperation. The delegation led by Deans of Faculties and Schools included Prof. Suharnomo (Dean of FEB), Prof. Dwi Pudjonarko (Dean of FK), Prof. Retno Saraswati (Dean of FH), Prof. Tri Winarni Agustini (Dean of FPIK), Prof. Bambang WHEP (Dean of FPP), Prof. Dian Ratna Sawitri (Dean of FPSi), Prof. Hardi Warsono (Dean of FISIP), Dr. Budiyono (Dean of FKM), Dr. Nurhayati (Dean of FIB), Prof. Budiyono (Dean of SV), Dr. R B Sularto (Dean of SPS). Apart from that, Prof. Denny Nugroho Sugianto and Dessy Ariyanti Ph.D., who are the Head and Deputy Head of the Undip Ranking Office, as well as the Undip WCU task force team including Prof. Dr. Diana Nur Afifah, Yayuk Astuti, Ph.D, Ahmad Ni’matullah Al-Baarri, Ph.D., Ir. M. Arfan, S.Kom., M.Eng., and Heriyanto, Ph.D.

At this event, the Delegation from Undip also had the opportunity to directly discuss with the QS World University Rankings team, Mr. E Way Chong (Regional Director, Southeast Asia + Japan at QS Quacquarelli Symonds) about Diponegoro University’s strategy to continue to improve its reputation at the global level.
