Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences Undip and Charoen Pokphand Officially Closed Entrepreneur Teaching Center Program

Monday, August 9th 2021, Entrepreneur Teaching Center (ETC) Program 2021 has officially closed. The program, which was initiated by Charoen Pokphand and Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences Undip, has succeeded in teaching 30 students of Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences Undip to get directly involved in the world of work. Students have learned how good business is run in various subsidiaries of Charoen Pokphand for 9 weeks. The first is Prima Freshmart store which sells frozen processed food products and chicken, and the second is Poultry Division, which is a broiler partnership business. Meanwhile PT. Bisi International is a corn, rice and horticultural plant cultivation company.

The participants of ETC program admitted that they gained a lot of new experiences and knowledge from this program. The knowledge gained from this program cannot be obtained in lectures, including how to implement theories in the real world. Achmad Fahrul, one of the participants admitted that it turns out that what is in the book can be very different from what happens in the world of work. Moreover specifically about the problem of entrepreneurship in the field of animal and agriculture sciences. The other participants stated that this program must be sustainable and continually carried out in the following years because it can encourage students to collaborate, be open to change, and be able to view a problem in the field of animal and agriculture sciences from various perspectives.

Not only the participants, the Head of Study Programs at Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences Undip also welcomed the implementation of ETC program. According to them, by participating in ETC program, students can practice directly theories learned in class and learn something new that they cannot find in class. The ETC program is considered very feasible to continue because it has been adjusted to the syllabus of faculty and the business world. Thus the knowledge gained by the students is in accordance with reality in the world of work and materials learned in class.

Hearing these positive feedback, Chaoren Pokphand’s side also felt happy considering that ETC was born because of Charoen Pokphand’s efforts to increase student interest in entrepreneurship. It is time for the industrial and academic worlds to produce prospective graduates who can create the excellent business world in the future. With ETC program, theory and practice can go hand in hand. It is hoped that in the future it can increase student’s skills for entrepreneurship, especially in the field of animal and agriculture sciences.
