SEMARANG – The Rector of Diponegoro University (UNDIP), Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum., inaugurated the elevators and escalators facilities assisted by representatives of PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (Bank BTN) taking place at the Faculty of Law. The presence of these facilities are a bridge to connect the activity spaces and to facilitate the mobility of the academic community so that they can be more productive in their work.

The inauguration was marked by the signing of the inscription by the Undip Rector; the Dean of Faculty of Law Undip, Prof. Dr. Retno Saraswati, S.H., M.Hum.; and Head of Regional Office IV Bank BTN IV Roni Subagio. The signing was witnessed by Undip Vice Rector I, Prof. Faisal, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D.; Undip Vice Chancellor IV; Prof. Dr. Ir. Ambariyanto, M.Sc; Head of BTN Semarang, Donny Dwiantoro; and Head of Undip BTN Sub-Branch Tembalang, Diah Mariani.

When giving a speech, Undip Rector, Prof. Yos Johan expressed his gratitude for the blessing of Allah SWT and the assistance of Bank BTN. He mentioned that many partners have participated in supporting the construction of a number of facilities within Undip through the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) program. “I hope that with the addition of several campus facilities, the process of mobility for the academic community will be easier and more comfortable, especially in providing convenience and comfort to students and lecturers in the learning process,” said the Undip Rector during the inauguration ceremony.

Dean of Faculty of Law Undip, Prof. Retno also expressed her gratitude for the gift bestowed by God Almighty for the completion of a number of campus infrastructure such as elevators, escalators, mosques and connecting buildings and creativity verandas. Prof. Retno expressed her gratitude to Bank BTN for providing grants to the Faculty of Law Undip. She also thanked the Undip Rector for his support in the construction of facilities in the Faculty of Law Undip.

As the head of the faculty, Prof. Retno stated that these facilities were built to support the improvement of the academic achievement of the Faculty of Law Undip. She expressed her joy for a number of achievements obtained by the Faculty of Law Undip, such as Law Undergraduate Study Program and Law Postgraduate Study Program that have been internationally accredited by FIBAA. Several scientific journals managed by the Faculty of Law have also successfully achieved SINTA 2 accreditation.

“Hopefully, with the elevators and escalators in the Faculty of Law Undip Building can help the lecturers and students during the learning process. The existence of the lift itself is very much needed because this lift connects between the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors to be precise connecting the Prof. Satjipto Rahardjo, S.H. Building to Building A as a place of lectures. In this connecting building, a mosque with the name Al-Hakam Mosque of Faculty of Law Undip which was also recently inaugurated was also provided as a place to pray for Moslem,” said Prof. Retno when interviewed by the PR team, on Thursday (06/01/2022).

The escalators are located in the Prof. Paulus Building of Faculty of Law Undip that connected the 1st floor to the 5th floor. This building is a lecture building so it is really useful for students and especially the lecturers who are generally old. “We thank both Bank BTN and Undip for helping us provide elevators and escalators at Faculty of Law Undip,” she said.

Another program to increase educational services for law students is by developing training study programs such as moot court practice in collaboration with the Indonesian Advocates Association (Peradi). From this program, students will get a certificate that is useful to find work after graduation.

This step will also support Undip in making achievements at the national level in the category of speed and accuracy of graduates in getting a job based on the QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2022. “We conduct these all to supports Undip’s progress towards a World Class University,” she said.
