FT UNDIP Held the 10th Regional Conference of Engineering Education in 2022

Semarang – Central Java (9/11). The Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University (FT Undip) in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering, Sebelas Maret University (FT UNS) and the Center for Engineering Education (CEE), University of Technology Malaysia (UTM) successfully held the 10th Regional Conference in Engineering Education in 2022 (RCEE 2022) ) on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. The event was held online via the Zoom meeting platform and offline at the 4th Floor Theater Room, Dean Building of the Faculty of Engineering Undip.

The opening of the 2022 RCEE activities was attended by the Dean of FT Undip Prof. Ir. M. Agung Wibowo, M.M., M.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of FT UNS Dr.techn. Ir. Sholihin As’ad, M.T., Director of the Center for Engineering Education UTM Ir. Ts. Dr. Zaki Yamani Zakaria, and participant of the 2022 RCEE international seminar.

The invited speakers were Prof. Dr. Khairiyah Mohd Yusof from University of Technology Malaysia, Prof. Ir. M. Agung Wibowo, M.M., M.Sc., Ph.D. from Diponegoro University, Prof. Dr. Ing. Ir. Misri Gozan, M.Tech. from the University of Indonesia, and Ir. Bertha Maya Shopa, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng. from Gadjah Mada University.

Dean of FT Undip, Prof. Ir. M. Agung Wibowo, M.M., M.Sc., Ph.D. officially opened the event and welcomed the participants and speakers of the 2022 RCEE international seminar. “It is an honor for us to welcome all the participants and speakers of the 10th Regional Conference in Engineering Education in 2022.” said Prof. Agung.

In his remarks, Prof. Agung explained that the 2022 RCEE activities were the result of a good collaboration between FT Undip, FT UNS, and the University of Technology Malaysia.

2022 RCEE is an international forum for academics, researchers and students to share information about research, development and application of engineering education.

With this international forum, efforts to improve the quality of technical education as a step towards the era of disruption can be well coordinated by all parties. “I hope that this activity will become a valuable forum and can contribute significantly to the development and advancement of engineering education.” said Prof. Agung.

Chairperson of the 2022 RCEE Committee, Dr. Naniek Utami Handayani, S.Si., M.T. in her report said that at the 2022 RCEE activities there were 27 papers that would be presented. These papers cover 10 interesting topics related to engineering education in a disruptive era. 2022 RCEE participants come from various countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Egypt and Italy.

“The 10th RCEE activities also provides an opportunity to build and expand international networks among participants so as to improve the quality of research.” said Dr. Naniek.

In addition, Dr. Naniek added that at the 2022 RCEE international seminar, a workshop on Outcome Based Education (OBE) was also held. “This workshop discusses the implementation of the Outcome Based Education (OBE) curriculum as an assessment indicator for national and international accreditation. We also discuss how to conduct an Outcome Based Education (OBE) assessment for Program Education Objectives (PEO), Program Learning Outcomes (PLO), and Course Learning Outcomes ( CLOS).” concluded Dr. Naniek.

Furthermore, in the final session of the event, the recipients of The Best Paper and Presentation Award were announced at 2022 RCEE. Chin Khai Ong, Sue Jiun Phang, Rayson Pang, Denny K. S. Ng, Chia Ping with a paper entitled “Learning and Enhancement Development (LED): Integrating Qualitative Assessments and Peer-Assisted Learning Engagement for First Year Engineering Students” won 1st Best Paper.

Meanwhile, Voon-Loong Wong won 1st Best Presentation with a paper entitled “Learning and Enhancement Development (LED): Integrating Qualitative Assessments and Peer-Assisted Learning Engagement for First Year Engineering Students”.
