Mental health is a problem that is now often faced by teenagers. Starting from a determination to participate in overcoming mental health problems, a student of the Indonesian Literature study program at Diponegoro University, Laela Nur Rahmawati, was elected as The Winner of 2023 Indonesian Mental Health Ambassadors (DKMI) in the national category organized by Indonesian Psychological Literacy (LPI). The selection process was held starting from file selection, interviews, Leadership Group Discussion (LGD), assignments, voting, debates, and ended with determining the winner. The winning categories consist of regional, best, and national categories. Each of these categories will select male and female winners.

Laela Nur Rahmawati is an 8th semester student of the Indonesian Literature study program and comes from Banyumas, Central Java. She managed to become the winner after competing with 2000 other participants. Participants in these activities include individuals ranging from 17 to 40 years old who are bound by institutions, organizations or communities. “The reason I chose to be active in the field of mental health is because currently there are still many of our friends who don’t care enough and need help with their mental condition. I hope to be a good listener about their mental state,” explained Laela. The toughest challenge for her is completing assignments on time and the content uploaded on Instagram must have value and benefits for Sobat Lify (a designation for the audience of the content).

The Head of the Study Program and the Secretary of the Indonesian Literature Study Program gave their highest appreciation for Laela Nur Rahmawati’s victory as the 2023 Indonesian Mental Health Ambassador (DKMI). Sukarjo Waluyo, M.Hum as the Head of the Indonesian Literature Study Program hopes that Laela can become a source of inspiration for the wider community. This also shows that Indonesian Literature study program students have potential, good competitiveness, and high concern for issues in society. “You’re not alone. I’m with you,” concluded Laela.
