Diponegoro University (Undip) is one of the universities in Indonesia that has declared itself to be a research-based university with an international reputation. As a concrete form of Diponegoro University’s efforts to become a World Class University, Undip held a socialization of the 2024 World Class University program on (22/01) at the Prof. Soedarto, S.H. Building, Undip Tembalang Campus, Semarang. The leadership and academic community of Diponegoro University attended this event.
The introduction to socialization opened the event with an introduction delivered by Prof. Dr. Ir. Ambariyanto, M.Sc., as Vice Rector IV for Research and Innovation at Diponegoro University. In the introduction given by Prof. Ambariyanto, he stated that international recognition supports Undip in achieving its goal of becoming a ‘World Class University’ by improving its academic reputation. Prof. Ambariyanto also appreciated Undip’s achievements in 2024, which was ranked 791-800 according to the QS World University Ranking.
“Currently, Undip is ranked 791-800 as a world-class university. Furthermore, we want to actively involve the entire Undip academic community to continue to update data, information, and so on with the hope that in the next ranking, Undip’s ranking can continue to rise until it reaches the target, namely Top 500 World Rank,” explained Prof. Ambariyanto in his speech.
This socialization event was continued with guidance by Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H. M. Hum. as Rector of the University, who invites the entire academic community to continue to strengthen Undip so that the achievements that have been achieved can continue to be maintained.
“If we want to see Undip grow to be more prosperous, at least we can maintain these rankings. In my opinion, World Class University (WCU) is side by side with the Prosperity issue; with the ranking achieved, it must also go hand in hand with prosperity and shared prosperity. If we are serious, then we can definitely achieve that. Let’s improve welfare by continuing to make achievements,” said the Rector of Diponegoro University.
The presentation of this socialization material was carried out by Prof. Dr. Denny Nugroho Sugianto, S.T., M.Si. In his presentation of the material, Prof. Denny explained that this socialization activity was one of Undip’s efforts to reach the top 500 universities in the world. The material presented by Prof. Denny was regarding data on Undip’s achievements towards 500 world-class universities and socialization regarding the activities and internationalization programs of Undip’s World Class University 2024.
