Ni Putu Hayu (Graduate of the Faculty of Public Health Undip): Be a Problem Solver!

“The learning process at Undip is not only limited to the classroom but also involves comprehensive self-development, making one more confident to become a problem solver, critical thinker, and adaptive,” said Ni Putu Hayu Hayomi Ari Santi, an Undip graduate who was inaugurated at Undip’s 173rd graduation ceremony. She is an alumnus of the Faculty of Public Health with a concentration in Environmental Health.

“Education should be a top priority because from here, we can develop critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills that are essential for the future,” added Putu, who officially graduated on February 2, 2024.

According to Putu, the recipient of a GPA of 3.78 (with honors) with a study period of 4 years and 4 months, being involved in campus internal and external organizations can also provide invaluable experiences. Still, one should only join a few organizations if they cannot be responsible. “Follow and explore organizations that align with your passion, provide a positive impact, and space for growth so that these organizations can become extraordinary places to thrive and build social networks that can support future careers,” she emphasized.

During her academic journey, she experienced incredible intellectual exploration, especially in the field of Environmental Health. Although many moments and opportunities were missed due to the past pandemic, she was still able to develop a deep understanding of her field of study.

Eventually, she participated in several national-scale competitions for scientific papers, essays, and infographics. One of her pride was winning first place in a national essay competition held in 2021. The essay discussed the utilization of VR in the education process and the improvement of COVID-19 vaccination coverage, which received appreciation from the judges.
